Managing of IT department and implementing Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
I implemented Great Plains in multiple companies where I was responsible for Business Analysis, Installation, Training, System Setup, and Support.
Creating the company IT infrastructure like Networking, Domain, Exchange, ISA, Microsoft SQL and others were among my resposibilities.
- Commissioned as a software consultant and project leader to advise on the choice of application software for an ERP implementation project, complete the business analysis and implement the project lifecycle.
- Lead the ERP Great Plains implementation project and reduced the unpredictable implementation cost.
- Successfully completed the Financial, Distribution, Manufacturing and Project Accounting Modules, including: General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Cash Flow; as well as Inventory, Sales and Procurement..
- Lead the management, strategic planning and analysis for the Group’s IT departments, and was involved in relevant Board decisions.
- Developed and implemented a fully operational multi-company ERP system covering Financial, Distribution, Customer Service and HR/Payroll modules, and implemented it for +350 users in +20 branches.
- Introduced and implemented a ready made JDEdward ERP package, and assumed leadership of the business analysis aspect and the technical management of its implementation.
- Analyzed the group’s business and technology requirements and helped improve productivity, control and market share. Also implemented several new technologies for streamlining workflow and reducing operational cost.
- Reduced the cost of paper, filing and paper workflow by automating the fax exchange, transforming all incoming faxes into e-mail messages and reducing the cost of outgoing faxes by 80%.
- Monitored employee Internet usage and introduced disk-less computers, significantly reducing the company’s running cost and computer maintenance expenses.
- Reduced the cost of phone calls by 60% through utilizing computer lines between Group branches for inter-branch phone calls.
- Enforced employee attendance monitoring and automated salary calculation by introducing electronic time keeping systems.
- Directed the purchase and installation of hardware including communication equipment and networks.
Progressed within the company from System Analyst, to Customer Support Manager, System Support Manager and IT Manager respectively, accomplishing the following achievements among others throughout the course of my employment:
- Operated UNISYS computers from PC to mainframe.
- Developed several Arabic routines for UNISYS computers and Arabized UNISYS development tool known as LINC.
- Created Arabic mapping routines between UNISYS mainframe and Microsoft Office.
- Developed several systems to local customers, influencing revolutionary workflow improvements, and was among the pioneering implementer of these systems in Saudi Arabia.
- Pioneered the implementation of the bar code system into the group, including the physical inventory, and introduced the new CD soft copy of reports and the Terminal Services technology.
- Built the infrastructure of the computer network between the Group branches.
