Execution of the development & implementation of the various Project HSE Plans in compliance Corporate HSE Policy, Work Practices, Integrated Management System, Client HSE Requirements, and Relevant HSE Regulatory Requirements to deliver World Class HSE Performance;
Plan, conduct and document work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation / modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria: in example, Environmental Impact Assessments, coordination and execution of Safety Cases and support studies, Quantitative Risk Assessments, Process Hazard Analyses, Fire Protection Specifications and performs analysis of regulations against project needs so that design will comply with regulations;
Maintain and apply a working knowledge of the Company's HSE standards, programs and goals by learning and applying HSE procedures as established by the Company on a project site or in an office through departmental training;
Ensure project site adheres to company and regulatory HSE standards and guidelines and conduct onsite risk assessment and mitigation;
Preparation of certification/classification programs, the preparation of the supporting HSE documents and implementation of project specific HSE initiatives;
Apply regulatory requirements to provide guidance to project management; participate in monitoring and controlling HSE standards, applicable laws and regulations; and design and review a project plan or schematic to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and Company/Client requirements;
Promote and foster Company HSE standards and goals with programs throughout the Company and/or project to ensure a safe and productive work environment;
Prepare, maintain, interpret and communicate records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring application of HSE standards and goals through its programs;
Develop project compliance programs through an analysis of regulations;
Provide input for HSE permit preparation on projects by maintaining knowledge of current guidelines and regulations;

Project HSE Execution Plans are evidenced in the field as written;
Programs are in place to evaluate and mitigate HSE Risk to acceptable levels;
Prevention Programs are based upon Leading Indicators to achieve Zero Harm;
Incidents are Reported, Investigated, & Analyzed to prevent recurrence;
Achievements:
Successfully completed and signed off 2 construction projects without any LTI during the 2015 financial year. The projects were completed within the time and financial arrangement.
I was responsible for ensuring DAFF compliance to the OHS Act 85/1993.
I conducted inspections and compiled relevant reports.
I was required to inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.
My chief goal was to protect the employees, customers and the environment, identifying potentially hazardous materials and collecting samples of them for analysis.
I recommended changes and educated employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.
I investigated accidents to identify their root causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
My portfolio included the issuing of permits, whilst ensuring legal compliance. I was required to identify, assess and control hazards, this involved environmental assessments of hazards, and incident and accident investigation, and making recommendations to combat future issues.
I conducted OHS meetings and audits, whilst reviewing OHS documents, roles and responsibilities, and accident, incident and near miss findings.

Achievements:
Personally responsible for 0 hours lost time (LTI) in work related injuries and COID claims through awareness sessions, safety meetings and the implementation of best practices and procedures
Designed and implemented the emergency evacuation and action plan for the Mossel Bay office
Assisted with the process of analyses, bench-marking, training and finally the procurement of Emergency Evacuation Chairs for DAFF

My role was to enforce the Fisheries Act and other related acts and regulations; to protect fishery resources and fish habitat through patrols on the land, in the sea and in the air.
I was required to participate in public education and awareness programs to develop greater awareness of fishery resources and habitat protection.
I was responsible for enforcing the Living Marine Resources Act - Act 18 of 1998, and the National Environmental Management Act - Act 107 of 1998.
I conducted investigations of environmental crimes and prevention thereof, which involved overseeing the education of communities to ensure better understanding in sustainability of resources.
As Operational manager I was responsible for planning, executing and leading specialized operations with other law enforcement bodies.
I was responsible for the inspection and control of commercial, recreational and subsistence fisheries, as well as the inspection of factories, fisheries, canneries and vessels.
I led the monitoring of allocated quotas, efforts and operational limits, and conducted coastal and boat based inspections on land and at sea.

Received merit award for outstanding performance for compiling and implementing a new (AOG) Admission of Guilt fine list to the Living Marine Resources Act - Act 18 of 1998. The document was approved by the Regional Chief Justice of the Department of Justice, and is currently in use and enforced by - Department of Fisheries, South African Border Control Unit of SAPS, South African National Parks (SANPARKS), Nature Conservation Services and the Special Investigation unit of DAFF.
Created and implemented a new revised admission of guilt fine list to enforce LMRA 18/1998. The document was approved by the Department of Justice, and is currently used by DAFF, SAPS, SANPARKS and Nature Conservation officials;
Designed and implemented a Power Point presentation to make new entrants and trainees equipped to understand and enforce the Living Marine Resources Act - Act 18/199.

Enrolled in the 9 SA DIV - 35mm Light Anti-Aircraft Division as First Gunner and Platoon Leader.
Based in Ruacana Namibia, on the Angolan border, where I was required to lead a team of soldiers in completing missions.
