• Monitoring work on-board and other yard areas to identify potential hazards and instigate remedial actions.
• Issue and control of Safety permits.
• Conducts visits, surveillance, and routine and follow up inspections and audits identifying safety and fire hazards and required emergency equipment.
• Prepare reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
• Establish, coordinate, and monitor the provisions of the emergency procedures, drills and communication of information.
• Provision of oversight, guidance, and leadership to engineers and field supervisors.
• Coordinating with the vessel safety representatives.
• Testing of vessels daily to ensure that they are gas-free or inerted in accordance with DWD Rules and Regulations.
• Maintain all records and documentation.
• Examine certifications, credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with standards, procedure and statutory requirements
• Promotion and maintenance of high level of safety awareness among employees
• Carryout various inspections regarding safety
• Maintain a good work permit system
• Detection, reporting and prevention of unsafe conditions and unsafe act
• Make a habit among employees to use proper PPE
• Assist the concerned department in implementing the statutory requirements related to safety
• Ensure the first aid arrangements
• Maintain an effective fire protection and prevention system
• Ensure a healthy and safe working environment
