Develop, implement and ensure sustenance of Occupational Health & Safety Management system.
· Prepare and ensure sustenance of Occupational Health & Safety strategies, plans and internal policy.
· Coordinate development and implementation of safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant Occupational Health & Safety hazards.
· Conduct regular workplace and operational Occupational Health & Safety Audits and check that policies and procedures are being property implemented.
· Coordinate holding of regular Departmental, Divisions and Sections Health & Safety Committees and ensure that issues identified by Staff are resolved.
· Be involved in conflict resolution to the triumph of health & Safety especially to achieve harmony between operational needs and safety requirements.
· Propose and ensure implementation of changes that are safe and comply with legislation.
· Conduct and/or coordinate all in-house Occupational Health & Safety training and awareness sessions.
· Be focal point for coordinating all Contractor Safety Program.
· Maintain database on Health & Safety inspections/audits and publish reports that recommend areas that need improvement.
· Maintain records of all reported incidents and accidents and generate statistics on performance or any other analysis requirement.
· Track all changes on applicable pieces of legislation and update the Company accordingly.
· Liaise with all regulatory bodies and ensure that the Company remain compliant.
· Produce regular technical Health & Safety report that effectively serve the needs of Senior Management.
· In liaison with Corporate Communications Office, produce Health & Safety educational and/or awareness materials including Videos, newsletters, fliers, and bulletins.
· Conduct Accident/Incident investigations and produce reports with recommendations on corrective/preventive actions.
· Coordinate fire drills.
· Advise on a range of specialist areas e.g. fire safety, hazardous substances, public health, occupational health & safety standards, noise, machinery safety and occupational diseases.

Position: Industrial Safety and Environment Officer.
• Develop Occupational Safety and Health procedures.
• Continuously undertake Safety Health and Environment inspections and audits.
• Manage all Safety, Health and Environmental issues/concerns at Mombasa station and other outstations.
• Maintain Occupational Safety, Health and Environment in all company areas.
• Create awareness and train employees on SHE programs and activities.
• Support internal and external statutory audits on SHE.
• Support activities on departmental and divisional SHE committees.
• Conduct awareness on safe waste disposal and advice on waste management.
• Enforce safe working procedures in the company.
• Ensure all site equipment and machinery conforms to both local and international standards.
• Manage contractor safety procedures in all company operations areas

Position: - Production Foreman / Safety health and Environment Co-coordinator.
• Production Planning
• Capacity utilization.
• Line Quality Systems management.
• Control and supervision of production unit staff.
• Generating production reports.
• Safety Health and Environmental management, Management Representative SHE committee.
• Exposure to Rubber manipulation, Tanning, and PVC and TPR injection molding techniques.
• Industrial Waste water treatment (Tannery Effluent Management)
• Knowledge in Efficiency and Costing.
• Production outputs/targets and line(s) efficiency management.
• Exposure to (BSO) Bata Standards Organization quality and general management systems.
• Carry out RISK assessment and inspection in the factory according to the company (SHE) policy.
• Enforcement of Personal Protective Equipment use in the Factory.
• Organizing fire safety trainings and drills.
• Training, enforcement and documentation of PPE use and compliance.
• Investigating all accidents on duty as quickly as when notified of their occurrence, and take appropriate remedial action
• Maintaining a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences. Provide statistical summaries to the Health and Safety Committee and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.
• Preparing and coordinating the health and safety audit, and the audit process. Monitoring that audit recommendations are being implemented within agreed time frames
