John Hagley

Currently managing the deployment of a fleet of Komatsu Autonomous Haul Trucks (AHT’s) to the Western Range project in Paraburdoo. My daily activities include reporting to senior leadership, vendor management of over 40 contractors and budgeting and forecasting of our $15M in 2024. Risk management and scheduling are also key parts of my role, with safety, regulatory and compliance activities a critical part of delivering safe autonomous operations.
Managed the Right Size Autonomous Truck (RSAT) program through its evolution from Development through to Demonstration phases. This included estimating, forecasting, and budgeting of $8M in development annually of software development and hardware deployment activities. Actively managed the deployment and operation of 19 team members. Working closely with external vendors Scania and Wenco to build, test and demonstrate the Scania autonomous capability on 40t trucks.

Gudai-Darri is Rio Tinto’s “Mine of the Future” and first greenfield mine in 13 years. Recruited and managed the embedded run team at the customer site and operations center. Managed a distributed team of 30 people in 3 teams
• Development of a successful high-level relationship with Rio Tinto Iron Ore.
• Deployment of 26 x 793F Autonomous Mining Trucks and 3 x 789D Autonomous Water Trucks
• Created opportunities for an additional $2M opportunity in revenue for Caterpillar Services in staffing and training in 2021.

Phu Bia Mining is one the largest miners and producers of Copper Silver and Gold products in Asia.
• Developed the PMO Capability for PBM Technology Teams, including documentation, processes, and service levels.
• Program Management of the Fatigue Management System implementation (CAT DSS), the Plant Control upgrade, In-Pit Wi-Fi upgrade and paperless pit projects.

• Managed senior accounts, partners, and services providers through the entire process of requirements analysis, success factors, contract definition and execution.
• Ownership of key accounts through the APD region for BORN Group based in New York.
• Ran the multi-million dollar bid process and conducted product presentations of SAP Hybris and Magento for Super Retail Group and EB Games.

I led the Information Systems of 25 project staff in the design, transition and operation of the tolling retail and corporate infrastructure for the Airport Link Road project in Brisbane. This $3.8Bn project was the largest infrastructure project in Australian history. I also managed an annual budget of $4M and a capital budget of $134M.
• Managing all IT aspects of the Design and Construct contract with the primary subcontractor
• All aspects of the3rd Party Vendor Support Contracts.
• Responsible for developing and delivery of the annual IT budget valued at over $4 Million.
• Create and publish all IT policies and standards for Bris Connections IT operations.

Lorna Jane is an iconic Australian retailer with 157 stores in Australia and 40 in the USA and a turnover more than $200M.
• I reduced the overall operating budget by 24% and stabilized operational cost.
• As a member of the C- Level Senior Leadership Team, I have set the long-term IT strategy for Lorna Jane.
• Complete restructure of the technology platforms to a world class infrastructure from assessment, tendering, selection and awarding of over $6M in contracts.
• Pioneering the use of Wi-Fi Analytics and engagement technologies to discover new channels of business for Lorna Jane. Generated an additional $9M in sales for one year (2015) through technology initiatives.

• Project managed the establishment of IT operations for Greenfield Thiess operations, mostly in remote locations. Pioneered the use of mobile satellite technology in Thiess.

I led a team of five staff delivering IT support and project services to Thiess’ operations throughout the Bowen Basin and Darwin. Supported over $2Bn worth of projects in mining, civil construction and process engineering.
Key Accomplishments:
¥ Established an IT support infrastructure to support Thiess’ IT requirements locally
¥ Project managed the establishment of IT operations for greenfield Thiess operations, mostly in remote locations.

¥ Pioneered the use of webcams on Thiess remote sites.
¥ Established local and metro area wireless networks for very remote sites.
