Objective
To pursue career in banking documentation, assist users as technical writer
(not a Subject Matter Expert), for procedures, flowcharts,
to mitigate risks, add controls, and facilitate approvals,
for large bank or organization, using native English, law degree, Masters.

Highlights of Experience
• Over 16 years of banking experience (in Middle East), also heavy industry, mainly as technical writer and editor. Worked ten years as Senior Procedure Writer for Riyad Bank’s Head Office (200 branches), creating/revising/facilitating approvals; similar work for three other bank Head Offices.
• What I did: Created corporate documentation, policies, procedures, standards, Visio flowcharts, guidelines, business cases.
• Accomplishments: Streamlined use of forms, reduced hand-offs, shortened unnecessary and redundant steps, reduced lead times, and prepared for forms automation through computer systems re-engineering, implementation of new systems.
• Quantification: Wrote proc. for new systems: Net profits of 436 million SAR, increased return on equity 19.3%, and raised total op. income to 14.5%. (Procedures have indirect effect on bottom line.)
• Team Player aspects: Led a team that developed and managed policies and procedures for banks and private companies. Interfaced regularly with Compliance, Legal, auditors, regulator teams, Risk to identify and enhance controls and Corporate Governance actors to target risks / mitigate exposures.
• People aspects: Worked closely with all levels (e.g., subject matter experts and supervisors) and many nationalities, through approval stages. Documentation aids users to perform duties correctly, and procedures are training guides for new hires / transferees.

Ten years with Riyad Bank Head Office, two with Alinma, 2.5 with Saudi French (all in Riyadh.) Currently in Doha with small very fast-growing Shariah-compliant bank, employed full-time as a procedure writer.
