• Ensuring the implementation of the department objectives according to the finance & accounting strategy.
• Developing policies, procedures, guidelines and standards related to the accounting functions.
• Orienting the accounting staff with the overall finance & accounting strategy, finance & accounting objectives and policies and procedures.
• Providing guidance, leadership, support and oversight to accounting staff to ensure compliance with the overall objectives and quality standards of the department and ensure work adherence to the company’s general accounting policies and procedures.
• Prioritizing, coordinating and allocating work assignments to staff, and resolving day-to-day staffing problems and issues.
• Conducting monthly progress meetings with the accounting staff to discuss progress and status and identify issues, obstacles and potential risks in the department.
• Reviews and approves the validation of accounting transactions and their account distribution, and posts the accounting entries to the general ledger system in light with the companies’ policies and procedures.
• Managing accountants and periodically review general ledger entries, to check accuracy and compliance with the established rules and accounting principles and that all entries are supported with valid documentation.
• Providing accurate, comprehensive and timely information regarding the financial status of Company through the utilization of effective accounting concepts, principles and procedures
• Prescribing adequate systems of internal control to ensure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation, including appropriate procedures, manuals, and standard practice instructions.
• Reviewing and approving all payables (e.g. cash and cheques) in order to ensure that all payments are made on time and ensure its proper documentation.
• Ensuring that accounts Receivables transactions are documented on daily basis and ensuring its collection as scheduled.
• Ensuring the daily documentation of the taxes and approving the monthly and quarterly taxes report submitted to the tax authorities.
• Reviewing, and approving the payments due to the tax authority as scheduled.
• Performing period end and year end closing of books
• Reviewing and approving the daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and financial statements
• Coordinating with the other finance departments in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports.
• Facilitates the annual audit activities with internal and external auditors by coordinating provision of information required, clarifications required, etc. to ensure that the year-end audit package is accurate and complete
• Providing technical direction over the development and maintenance of records in order to provide accurate and efficient information to top management on all financial aspects of the company
