Scope of Work
The Project comprises the construction and upgrade of section of Rayyan Road from West of Olympic
R/A, to West of New Rayyan R/A at the east end of the scheme, together with the construction and upgrading of associated side roads and service roads. The total length of the improvement scheme is approximately 5.5 km plus 6.0 km of side roads, associated service roads (approximately 11 km), minor Junctions and structures.
The scheme will provide in general a varying vertical alignment with four traffic lanes in each direction (plus turning lanes at junctions) with a dividing median along Rayyan Road. There will be a total of six interchanges:
The works include, but are not limited to Surface water drainage, including gullies, connections to existing storm sewers and soak ways, Construction of kerbs, footways and paved areas, Construction of high specification flexible pavement Directional and other traffic signage and road markings, Provision of sign gantries Traffic signals Extensive high specification hard and soft landscaping, including varied paving, architectural features, artscape, tree planting, irrigation and streetscape furniture, Public and private utility services; provision for future services, diversions and protection of existing services for Water supply network, Sewage collection and disposal systems, Treated sewerage effluent. Extensive Extra High Voltage (EHV), High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV) electricity networks, Street lighting, underpass and structure lighting, Q-Tel, Vodafone and Qatar National Broadband Network, Qatar Armed Forces (QAF) network, Ministry of Interior Security System Department network (MOI-SSD) etc.
