The company: Inspirations Decor is one of the leading Residential Architecture practicing firm of Dubai, dealing mainly in high-end Villa and palaces. The company is responsible for not only the design of the project, but also its execution in terms of complete project management.
Major Projects:
• 3 Villa for Mr Al Bwardy at Zabeel-1, Dubai.
3 Villa located in the heart of Dubai covering the total land periphery of 2.1 Km. The project is currently under construction.
The main concept of the project is based on Traditional Moroccan Architecture. Wide open spaces, having more than one open courtyard in each private and guest’s spaces, use of traditional Moroccan materials, etc are the highlight of the project.
The tasks includes preparing concept and final drawings at different stages as per project requirement; checking, reviewing, modifying and issue of the drawings; dealing with the suppliers in terms of product study, survey, negotiation and co-ordination; preparing finishes schedules, detailed BOQs and following up with all concern departments to make sure everything is in line; dealing with the contractors and sub-contractors and following up with the consultants of different technical and non-technical services such as MEP, HVAC, Home Automation, Landscape, etc to make sure that the tasks are carried out as per the required specifications and time.
The project demands very high quality output in terms of material, finishes and execution. Dealing with the suppliers and contractors from all around the world and co-ordinating with them to make sure that the standards are maintained and work is carried out smoothly.
The company: Trivedi Corp Pvt. Ltd is part of the Kiran Trivedi Group of companies. The company mainly deals with Stone products that includes the designing, processing and fixing of stones. The company also owns stone quarries and many stone processing plants.
Key Achievements: The Company holds state of the art stone processing machinery such as 5 axes CNCs, Water jets, Multi-wire saws, Gang Saws, Bridge cutters, Polishing and Resin Plants, etc. I’ve gone through training to understand these machines and to understand their potential so that I can implement this information in making the design concepts for our Stone projects. I’ve also learnt the fixing and the clamping method of stone for Dry Cladding.
Major Projects: Handled various international residential and commercial projects involving both Architectural and Interior works. Below is a summary of major projects handled by me.
• Katara Project, Doha - Qatar
The Katara Project consists of Commercial plaza and Children’s Mall spread over 7 building units in one campus. The whole exterior facade is to be clad with stone, consisting of more than thousand columns of different types, cornices and profiles. Prepared detailed design and fixing drawings, BOQ and cost estimation. The cost of only the exterior stonework of the project is about 15M US$.
• Harvard Medical School, Dubai - UAE
The main administration block of Harvard Medical School and its interior design work were done by our team. The fit-out works for the same were carried out under our supervision. The highlight of the project being huge stone counter spanning over 12mt having only two supports and the rest of the span being cantilevered. The tasks involved design of flooring, the main atrium and public lounge area design.
• Industry Development, Abu Road - India. (cost: 20M US$)
The master plan includes 3 large scale factory sheds, office building, staff quarters and director’s villa on a land covering an area more than 100, 000 sqmt. The nature of work includes preparing architectural layouts, plans, sections, elevations, 3D, working drawings and presentation drawings for the client.
The tasks also involved the coordination with site engineers, contractors, suppliers and fit-out workers, regular site visits and work supervision, checking site reports, material intake and usage, contractor bills, etc.
• Chua Bai Dinh Pagoda, Ninh Binh - Vietnam. (cost: 10M US$)
The huge campus spread over 1, 000 hectares of land, Chua Bai Dinh consists of Three Main Pagoda and a 104 Mt high Pagoda tower. While all the three pagodas were already finished, our team was given the Exterior and interior design of the Tower. The whole tower is made of RCC structure and client wants to have stone cladding on both Exterior and Interior of the tower. For this a complete study of the existing structure was carried out on site and then we prepared the design solution for both Exterior and Interior stone cladding together with stone fittings and clamping which suites the suggested stone, the existing structure and Vietnamese local weather conditions.
Represented the company for this project. Developed conceptual drawings, presentations, study model, 3D views, etc. Prepared detailed shop drawings for both processing and fittings, BOQ together with cost estimation. Did regular site visits to Vietnam for discussion with the client and to supervise the work on site.
• Interior Design of Villa Hortus, Almaty - Kazakhstan
This 5, 000 sqmt (construction area) Villa is designed by the Lithuanian architecture firm. We contributed in designing the intricate inlay stone flooring and FRP ceiling for the reception hall, dinner and breakfast halls, lobbies, library and luxurious bedrooms. The base floor had a large pool, sauna, SPA complex, and a bar.
The company: Boparai Architectural Services is a sister concern of The Netherlands based architectural firm Boparai Associates BV. Here we dealt with the projects that are mainly based in The Netherlands and other European.
Key Achievements: It requires the knowledge and training to learn the construction methodology, by-laws, materials and other aspects of architectural works in The Netherlands and other respective European countries. Undergone the training to learn and implement these aspects in projects.
• Worked on BIM (Building Information Modelling) with Revit Architecture in which we have to detail out the project in terms of billing and quantities, architectural schedules, 3D Visualization, etc.
• Did NEN 2580 (Nederlandse Norm) calculations involved in the projects. This covers the calculations of the gross, the usable and the rentable spaces of the building.
• Learnt how to handle a team and carry out the work in more effective, efficient and positive manner through the experiences and knowledge.
• Made protocols of the project standards and way of carrying out the work for particular clients keeping their requirements and demands in mind. These protocols act as helpful recourses for the team to work on that particular project.
• Site visits to the concern countries in which the projects were being carried out for site coordination, supervisions and to have the onsite experience.
• Good communication skills in terms of dealing with the project co-ordinator and the project manager in The Netherlands and carrying out the work in India as per their standards and satisfaction. The modes of the communication were being telephonic conversation, e-mail exchange and live conferences through Skype sessions and live video chat.
• Worked as the Office Manager at the later stage. The job demands not only to handle the projects and meeting the targets, but also to take care of the other aspects of the office administration.
• Involved in recruitment of junior staff such as Junior Architects and Draftsmen for the office and carried out tests to determine their design and / or drafting abilities and quality that helps us to take fruitful decision for the company.
Major Projects:
• Worked on two housing projects consisting of 148 units at Zwolle (A town in Netherlands). The work involved stages from preparing concept drawings till working out the details and the execution of the project at site.
• Worked on a Super market project at Hooglanderveen (A town in Netherlands). The work involved stages from preparing concept drawings till the preparation of the working drawings.
• Worked on the renovation of The Grand hotel at Amsterdam. The work involved preparing the existing floor plans first because the hotel is very old and has historical significance. There was no digital drawing available. Hence the study of existing building was done together with manual measure drawings. After that we worked on our new proposals and modified the drawings accordingly.
• An apartment project for elderly people in Archipel. This Old Age home was made keeping in mind the need of old people and the norms made by the authorities for them.
• Worked on the renovation of two floors and the façade of Zotel AMC hotel at Amsterdam. Proposed extension of Ground floor as the existing space was not sufficient enough to serve the increasing space demand. Also, the client needed a new look for their hotel. We prepared various façade options for them.
• Prepared detailed bill of quantities, material analysis, area calculations and other building aspects as a part of BIM assignment for one of our client for their various projects. Self learnt and mastered Revit Architecture software to carry out those tasks.
• Worked on various housing projects and personal residences on various stages and prepared working drawings, presentation drawings and 3D views.
