Managing eHealth Strategy Initiatives
I am currently managing a project for one of the local government entities to develop an eHealth Strategy. This is a specialised consulting assignment and some of the world leaders in the eHealth space are the main contributors to this high-level strategy initiative.
Managing HIS initiatives
Managing the one of the largest Healthcare Information System implementation (HIS) project in the UAE, branded Wareed. This is an AED 300 million project that include complete automation of 100 sites including 14 tertiary care hospitals. Project includes 25+ sub-projects that are delivering Data Centres, Wide area networks, LANs, Infrastructure management solutions, Clinical processes, HIS systems (in 12+ functional areas) and PACS systems.
As the Head of PMO/Project Manager, I was reporting to the Steering Committee of the project. In this role, I have managed a series of projects driven by vendors such as CERNER, GBM (IBM), ECRI, Kronos, Microsoft, Injazat and Etisalat.
I have developed a customized project management methodology for managing the PMO, deliverables, issues and risks, resourcing and milestones.
One of the main responsibilities under this project is organisational change management. I was accountable for planning and implementing an effective process to transform the organisation by improving organisational dynamics.
Responsible for managing an aviation security focused IT project portfolio of approx. 2 million USD. In this role I am involved in project planning, monitoring and control, risk management, financial management and team management.
Additionally, providing a support role for the user department account management. I function as a liaison between IT department and the business units. This include supporting day to day service requests and monthly service reviews.
I was instrumental in identifying business areas that need automation and initiating those projects. The aviation security project portfolio has increased from a budget of 300K AED in 2005 to 3, 000K+ AED budget in 2008 mainly due to my initiative.

I was a member of a team that was formed to develop the software solutions business of the Jumbo electronics.
Main responsibility was to manage the post-sales activities (Such as Implementation Management, project management, and support). As a manager of new business area, I was playing multiple roles such as pre-sales consultant, project manager and a product manager.
Instrumental in developing new software solutions range that include document management and portal solutions.
Responsible for setting up a software development team in Dubai for this multi-million dollar technology start-up. On-Instant was developing a new generation communication software that is based on VOIP and IM technologies
My responsibilities included, Setting up and managing the Dubai Development Centre. Defining system development methodologies. Solution design and technical/business research studies
I was leading a highly skilled software development team that delivered solutions beyond expectations.
This role was at the capacity of a project leader. I was responsible in leading number of product developments for the Ducont Fz Llc.
I was responsible for delivery of mobile application solutions for customers.
Invovlved in product architecture development, product concept design and development and IT consultancy.
Developed solutions included office application integration with mobile technologies, Mobile payment engine and Interactive mobile quiz/survay engine.
Hand-picked by the MD of Seven Seas Computers for coordinating and managing the internet solution development projects between the sales team and the offshore software development team.

I am a certified Project Management Professional
I have completed this cource and currently awaiting PMP certification exam.
This taught course is developed originally for IBM to help technical professionals to move towards management. Taught at the highest rated research department in UK, this course helped me to convert my years of experience into a different perspective. The final thesis was a research on software development process and quality certifications.
