Job responsibilities encompass numerous areas of plant design software - AutoPLANT 3D & 2D

− Supervise OpenPlant PowerPID/AutoPLANT certification team on projects
− Pipe designing using ASME B 31.3
− Project Planning, Scheduling, Resource Allocation, Task Assignment and correspondence with all stake-holders
− Supervise Plant Design Software Customization and verify the design of components
− Conduct Internal Trainings for testing colleagues (like on ‘Plant Products’, ‘Project Configurations’, ‘ProjectWise Server/Client Setup’)
− Mentor Team Members
− Hiring Resources for different teams

I was working in Designing and Development section of the organization as a design engineer and following activities were included in my responsibilities:

 Preparation of heat and material balance studies for proposed processes.
 Participation in layout planning for the proposed plant.
 Preparation of detailed sizing of all process equipment especially Gas filtration equipments.
 Preparation /supervise preparation of process flow diagram (PFD), with necessary preliminary sizing of all pipe lines, pumps, blower/fan, compressors etc.
 Preparation of mechanical and process specifications for all equipments like filter housings, pumps, compressors, Blower/fan, Gastight Butterfly valves, IRIS valves, HVAC systems etc. This includes the selection of materials of construction and safety systems.
 Determine size and specifications for all ON/OFF, Control and safety relief valves.
 Developments of PFDs and Isometric views of designed plants and equipments.
 Preparation of specifications in proper form and/or detail for use by the project team as well as for the purchasing function.
 Evaluation of bids and recommendation of qualified vendor
 Prepare detailed process and mechanical specifications for developing proposals for purchase by the purchasing department.
 Fabrication, Installation and commissioning of designed process plant/equipments.
 Operation monitoring and optimization in the process to get the maximum efficiency of installed plants
 Application of Design softwares like AUTOCAD, basics of AMD and analysis software like ANSYS.


ACHIEVEMENTS / ACCOMPLISHMENTS
 Process Design of 3600 m3/hr gas filtration plant includes the following activities:
Sizing and selection of pipes and headers, Sizing and selection of HEPA filters, Pressure drop calculations of complete plant includes HEPA filters, Solid bed Filtration Vessels and piping & fittings and valves etc, Sizing and selection of fan /Blower, Finalization of Flow methodology in the plant, Development of PFD and 3Ds of the plant.
 Design and development of odor removal system for washroom and kitchen as per ASHRAE standards with filtration capacity of 150CFM flow rate per person per washroom. Work in progress to resize unit for commercial use.
 Design and development of shock isolator springs possessing special features like transmissibility of 2-3g shock against 30-40 g shock. This has been qualified according to design specs. Ability to withstand lateral shocks and high loads.
 Design and development of filtration system for sea ships with constraints of space limitation, having capacity of filtering air @ 1200 CMH flow rate.
 Design and development of system for filtration of exhaust gas contents of heavy duty diesel vehicles by using Caustic Soda. Co2 and CO levels have been achieved according to EPA standards.
