As Base Logistics Manager with AAH, I am in charge for but not limited to the following activities:
• Managing all logistical tasks to ensure smooth implementation of different projects (WASH, MHPSS, and livelihoods)
• Performance in respect of costs, quality and timeliness in the supply chain (purchasing, transport, stock).
• Managing a big bulk of procurement requests from different projects funded by different donors.
• Budget holder of all logistics and support lines for more than 7 budgets from different donors.
• Close involvement in the development of new proposals notably procurement planning and budgeting.
• Checking and validating procurement requests and make sure that donors’ procedures are respected.
• Supporting program managers in the assessment of their business needs, procurement plans, designation of items needed.
• Supervision of the building rehabilitation and maintenance required for the functioning of the base.
• Putting in place security guidelines for the base and ensuring they are properly applied.
• Analyzing the risks in logistical matters and formulating recommendations concerning the selection of partners.
As a Logistics Officer with ACTED Syria, I am in charge for technically supporting Field Logistics Staff operating inside Syria (North East) on but not limited to the following aspects:
Being the logistical link between Field Logistics, Programs and Country Coordination.
Preparing procurement plans in close coordination with Program Managers and Finance.
Defining priorities for Field Logistics in collaboration with Programs.
Preparing Tender Documents, Reviewing Field RFQs and Processing Tenders including bids analysis and drafting contracts beside clearing commitments after implementation.
Acting as the technical focal point for Field Logistics with the support of Country Logistics Management in Amman.
Reviewing Field Monthly Procurement and Stock reports.
Mentoring the Capital Logistics Interns and preparing them for providing quality levels of support for the field.
Rejoined as SCA maintaining the same responsibilities and provided wider logistical support for Northern Field Staff, camps in particular after being promoted to SCO in September, 2016.
Cleared all pending payments, supported roving procurement specialists in
articulating RFPs and acted as the contact person for RFPs inquiries, processed
procurement requests as per project procurement SOPs.
Carried out variant kinds of procurements in terms of thresholds and categories in
compliance with the IRC’s and donors’ policies and regulations, supported field
staff in preparing effective purchase requests, prepared supply chain performance
related reports and shared them with SC management on a monthly basis,
supported fellow colleagues at the field operations team in delivering the best
logistical support for field staff.
Assisted in purchasing and reorder follow up, audited invoices, worked on
warehousing, and shipments management using Pixi* E-Commerce ERP.

The first Logistics degree in Jordan and the Arab region. Logistics and supply chain management has become very important to maintain competitive advantage and ensure operational excellence due to several factors. These factors are affected by recent market changes including globalization, increased competition, advances in information technology and increased customer expectations. The program aims to provide students with the required skills to build and manage product and information flow within supply chain systems. The program provide students with knowledge and skills in three different pillars; logistics processes expertise, analytical capabilities to support decision making, and utilizing information technology to facilitate business supply chain operations. The logistics program has an interdisciplinary nature to achieve the expected outcome. The department courses are taught by faculty and industry experts with tens of years of industrial experience enabling students to relate the theory and practice in the field.
