QSTec Polysilicon Project, Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar
QSTec’s Polysilicon Project is a $1.12 Billion EPC Project. The contract to deliver technology and equipment had been awarded to leading German solar company Centrotherm.
Once completed the plant will manufacture 8, 000 MTPY of high-purity solar-grade Polysilicon. It is scheduled to commence operations in 2H 2014 for Train-1 and 2H 2015 for Train-2.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Preparation of Detailed Lev-4 Schedule Tracking and control of Deliverables as per Target Plan.
 Generate Daily, Weekly & Monthly Progress Reports; S-curves discipline wise, Rolling 3 Months and 4 Weeks Look-Ahead Plans for Project Management & Client in close co-ordination with discipline In-charges & Construction Managers.
 Allocation of the Resources to various phases of the Project for Progress Monitoring in Primavera P6 on the basis of contractual weightage agreed in the Contract.
 Understanding project work scope, needs and deliverables, contract milestones, Estimating budget quantities, costs, durations and resources.
 Aligning Project work scope with company structured WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
Preparation & Tracking of the project master schedule and summary level curves and Man power histogram
 Preparation of Engineering Quantity Release, Procurement & Construction key quantity Curve
Analyze Progress and Efficiency Reports, compare with the targets, and indicate areas where improvements are required.
 Identification, monitoring & streamlining of critical paths running through the Project Master Schedule
 Preparation of invoice for both unit price and lump sum portion of works
 Interface with the Client regarding Claims, Transmittal documents, Drawings, PDCS(Project Document Control System)
 Identifying the un-spelled items in the original BOQ and preparation of the extra work claims.
 Working in close coordination with the execution team to identify and raise technical queries to remove any bottlenecks that may hampers the overall progress.
 Generation of Project Budget by taking into account the direct cost and Indirect cost incurred in the project.
 Participation in weekly client review meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Regularly monitoring critical path and preparing schedule impact reports for the project management.
 Proactively assessing progress, completion forecasts and providing solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion.
 Evaluating project progress against historical indicators on weekly basis and providing the management with comparative analysis.
 Responsible for day to day interaction with client / consultants / subcontracts regarding the progress of the works
 Preparation of detailed Schedule from Bill Of Quantities
 Preparing commissioning schedules in coordination with equipment supplier, erection agency, testing and commissioning team to match with the project completion plan
 Coordinate with the engineering and procurement department regarding the interfacing of construction activities and Material & Equipment availability.
 Implementing cost efficient method for construction; tracking design approvals, construction / shop drawings approvals, material approvals, delay in site inspection, bill of quantities “variation & addition / deletion” and natural calamities, site instruction register, etc. for applying Extension of time.
 Keeping close watch on various activities of Project (like delivery of materials, site clearance, duration of activities, “Holds” etc.) and updating the Project Manager on any Risk foreseen for project completion and providing suggestions.
 Calculating and Loading the Master schedule with all the resources like Man-hours and Equipment hours. (For forecasting the manpower requirements)
 Deciding the work break down structure as per the project requirements
 Deriving a suitable progress measurements system by working out appropriate weightage of the phases like Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Demobilization
 Calculating the weight age of the each activity by appropriate methods and Loading the master schedule activities with the weightages to make the progress measurement/monitoring easy during the execution stage.
 Preparation of control logs for Procurement (Long Lead) and subcontracting activities for monitoring during execution.
 Lead weekly planning meetings to ensure progress on track and enforce compliance to plan.
 Preparation of Monthly Progress and Weekly management reports with forecasting the material and manpower requirements.
 Close coordination with sub-contractors to enforce project plan and writing contractual letters for any delays in subcontractor works.
 Reporting to Client weekly and monthly.
 Updating the schedule and comparing the progress with target schedule submitted to client and with the internal target schedule.
