The group internal audit team assess the operational and financial risk management and controls of CRH. We help the business achieve better efficiencies, optimise performance and growth. The role involves travelling individually or in teams to various locations across Europe performing audit work.

Achievements
1. Leading audits on multimillion revenue entities in Finland and Germany. Conducted interviews and meetings through German when working in Germany.
2. Identified potential business improvement in large cement manufacturer by recommending a customer collection system I saw at a previously audited company. This system will improve performance by reducing customer waiting times by an estimated 20% and its implementation is now imminent.

Financial Controller at Knight Frank

In January 2012 I became financial controller, also head of IT and HR. Main duties include:
● Reporting: Arranging bi-weekly meetings with the company directors to discuss management accounts, HR and IT matters. Highlighting variances in revenue and costs compared with prior month and prior year to date. Provide forecasts and budgets.
● Accounts:
1. Producing monthly and annual accounts through to sign off of financial statements.
2. Preparing forecasts and budgets
3. Overseeing the implementation of new financial systems in the Property & Asset Management department and training staff to use the system.
● Cost Control: Reduction of operating costs - meeting with existing and potential alternative suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality of services received.
● Human Resources - recruitment, contracts, dispute resolution, termination meetings, performance reviews. Working with UK HR dept. to improve HR systems - training, review process, talent management.
● IT - Point of contact for all IT issues, liaising with IT support company. Overseeing merger with Knight Frank, main point of contact between Knight Frank IT dept. and HTMOR during and after implementation of KF IT systems.
● Office Management - Looking after maintenance and facility management, e.g. cleaning, car parking spaces for staff, repairs, storage.

Trainee Auditor at Grant Thornton – Chartered Accountants
