Since July 2022, Mark is leading the Group HR function of the RKW-group as CHRO, accountable for the Mannheim office, corporate communication, and Diversity and inclusion in the group. In his role, he is leading the buildup of a Global HR function from Organizational development, job structures and levels, compensation, job families and career paths, Great place to work accreditation and hence a complete repositioning on the competitive labor market position in within the Chemical industry.

Cristal is the global Leader in Titanium Chemicals and no 3 in Titanium Dioxide, based out of Saudi Arabia Head HR EMEA/APAC & Head HR greenfield projects
Designed and set up the Global hub for the pigment business in Switzerland (Zug) within 3 months, including internal and external stafing - Delivered below budget and overachieving on delivery targets - This led to a drop in blended corporate tax rate from 25 to 7%
Restructured Saudi Arabia operations to improve up-close relationships between HR and business, whilst increasing Saudization level from 45 to 51%, leading to Platinum status
Drove development and use of pre-and post-operational cost simulation tools for greenfield solutions, which include various scenarios to support feasibility studies, revealing errors in prognoses up to 23 million US$
Delivered and executed stafing scenarios together with our JV partner in Japan, for a Titanium Ore Slagging unit, a Titanium Sponge facility, a High Pressure Oxidation lines and a Titanium Tube manufacturing facility, totaling 1, 600 people. This included setup of resourcing, T&D, contracting, reward, retention bonus system etc.
Delivered creation of 50 temporary staf housing as well as 800 permanent housing units in Jizan for 15 million US$, a highly remote location in Saudi Arabia
Through a high Saudization level acquired a KSA government tax relief, resulting in a reduction of TCOE of 2 million US$ over 4 years Extra curricular activities
Wrote dissertation at the faculty of Economics (Management Sciences) on 'An integrated method of Management Development in international Companies; with highest grade awarded at that University - with distinction.
Drove cultural change process including implementing new leadership principles and name-change program for the formerly US lead RJ Reynolds into JT International (Japanese led) through an innovative program touching all employees
Innovated the HR systems to become employer of choice (EOC) for talented young academics, which reduced the employee turnover by 50% through various initiatives.
Wrote dissertation on best manner for Global companies to develop their leadership talent; literature- model building, assessment tool for organisations, and 5 business cases to underline the functioning of the model.
