Established Planning and Improvement concept by being the project director working with Booz & Co over six months to come up with an effective operation organization to oversee the current operation by all Sipchem affiliate allowing effective and efficient utilization of the company assets. Department officially established August 1st and holding the manger position reporting directly to the President.

Handled double duty; commissioning manger along with the operation manger to bring the commissioning/start up activity to completion after delay. Prepared expedited start-up sequence and execution plan. Lead plant to a safe start-up & lead the team to complete the plant performance testing successfully

Troubleshooting of plant operation/design issues. Mentoring
(4) four Saudi engineers with more than 3 years experience.

Holding a senior process engineer role in Saudi Aramco process consulting group (Grade Code: 14). Work activities; consultation to operating facilities, project design and review, HAZOP & Value engineering reviews, process troubling shooting.

o Teaching the following courses to Saudi Aramco Engineers
o Gas and Liquid Sweetening and Dehydration
o HYSYS & PROMAX Simulation

Lead process engineering role (Client side) of the detail design of Gas Treatment using Digclycolamine (DGA), Sulphur Recovery using super-clause process, Feed Gas Compression, and offsite utility area.

During the three years work with the company process engineering consulting department the following major activities were performed

• Design Basis Scoping Paper (DBSP) Developments
Responsible process/design engineer during the developments of three major Saudi Aramco mega gas plants projects; Hawiyah NGL Recovery Plant (HNRP), Hawiyah Gas Plant Expansion, and Khursaniyah Gas Plant. Responsible for building initial plant simulation, process selection, and sizing major equipments (fractionation columns, absorbers, regenerators Columns, Drums, Pumps, Compressors, heat exchangers (shell and tube & Air-cooled) 2/3 phase separators, filtration system)


• Amine Treatment Design & Trouble Shooting
The department primary contact in the amine system design and trouble-shooting. Performed several amine unit simulations using AMSIM & TSWEET, design, and optimization. Trouble-shoot various Saudi Aramco Refineries and Gas Plants Amine Systems that include; Diglycolamine (DGA), Monoethanolamine (MEA), Diethanol Amine (DEA), and Methyldiehanolamine (MDEA).


• Gas Dehydration Design & Trouble Shooting
Performed several Gas dehydration designs, optimizations and
trouble-shooting. Dehydration system included; Solid desiccant adsorption system, Triethylene Glycol (TEG) absorption, and Ethylene Glycol (EG) absorption/hydrate inhibition.

• Development of young engineers
Responsible for the development and teaching of two-day Gas Dehydration and Gas Sweetening course that is being offered to company’s engineers. The course is offered annually.

Member of the process consulting group in the central engineering department. A team member of Saudi Aramco Mega Project Haradh Gas Plant DBSP development. Handled the responsibility of building the overall simulation using HYSYS and the design of inlet facilities that includes; sludge-catchers, inlet-separators, coolers, filtration, and drums.

Jun 96 - Dec 96: Contact Engineer for the Sulphur Recovery unit where Claus Process is used. The area also include sulphur blocking, and ethane liquefaction, storage, and re-vaporization.

Jan 97 - Feb 98: Contact Engineer for the Low Pressure Gas Sweetening Plant. The plant includes; three gas sweetening units that are using DGA as the primary solvent for the removal of Acid Gas constituents from the Sour Feed Gases. Also team member of the Start-up and commissioning of the High Pressure Gas Sweetening Plant

Mar 98 - Oct 98: Contact Engineer for the Utility Plant. The area includes; water treatment using RO, Steam generation using conventional steam boilers, Nitrogen system, Plant Air/Instrument Air compression, Cooling water, Drinking water and condensate handling system

Nov 98 - Jun 99: Contact Operation Engineer for the Natural Gas Liquid Recovery (NGL) Plant: Plant includes Feed Gas Compression, Gas Dehydration using solid desiccants, Propane Refrigeration, De-Methanization (Fractionation), Sales Gas Compression, and NGL Storage facility.

Extensive developmental exercise, and participated in the Riyadh Refinery Yield Improvement Task Force that was carried on by a join Saudi Aramco and KBC (Consulting). The aim of the task force is to improve Riyadh Refinery production with the minimum capital cost and lost of process optimization.
