Provide technical engineering support for Rotating Equipment, Monitor their performance and provide technical assurance on the effective execution of related equipment & maintenance strategies.
Lead RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) and Technical investigations for the equipment breakdowns and provide recommendations to avoid the recurrence of the same failure. Also provide timely attention and rectification of the machinery problems.
Preparing the material request as per scope of work order.
Providing the technical assistance in maintenance of Rotating equipment.
Provide nesseceary documents P&ID, outline drawing, general assembly drawing, and technical data sheet to rotating & Static maintenance staff.
Trouble shooting and monitoring operation of Rotating Equipment.
Follow the flow of work as per Maximo.
Supervise the Overhauling and maintenance activities of the plant main equipment and auxiliaries and issue the Report.
Create the standard maintenance procedure for the Major and Minor overhauling of Rotating Equipment.
Planning and scheduling of Preventive Maintenance plan for the Rotating Equipment with respect to running hours.
• Perform Breakdown & Overhauling Maintenance of various makes reciprocating Compressor (Mitsui Engg & Shipbuilding Co, Sulzer, Burckhardt, Hamworthy & Worthington Turbodyne, Siemens and Dresser Rand Compressors inside Qatar Petroleum Refinery.
• Performing of site activities management including planning, assigning manpower resources and tools, providing technical assistance to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.
• Lead and execute Overhauling or breakdown maintenance of Reciprocating Compressor ensuring to follow OEM recommended procedures.
• Supervise the Overhauling and maintenance activities of main and auxiliaries’ equipment of Reciprocating Compressors.
• Ability to perform Reciprocating compressor pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Lead and execute cylinder inspection with disassembly and assembly of piston, suction / discharge cylinder and perform the relevant dimensional check and alignment check of Reciprocating Compressors.
• Lead and execute crankcase inspection with minor, medium, major overhaul of main bearing, crank pin, crosshead, connecting rod, stuffing box, intermediate seal packing and all other internal parts of Reciprocating Compressors.
• Perform small mechanical repairs and carry out any machine works at the machine tools in the workshop (lathe, mill, and grinding machine) of RC.
• Assist Start-up after overhauling of RC ensuring proper and safe operation of the machine by evaluating the running parameters and troubleshoot control system problem of RC.
• Write accurate professional reports acting as single point of contact between Customers and Company Headquarter concerning technical issues and interfacing with all involved functions
• Ensure all in-field activities carried out safely complying with company environmental health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
• To run and handle the function of failures prediction in the rotating equipment field and Proactively addressing the required prevention/mitigation for the likely failures through effective equipment strategy as well as guiding a group of the field maintenance engineers to support the respective plant in the field of rotating machinery engineering including troubleshooting, conducting through failure investigation cases, developing performance improvement studies, supporting to execute and complete the scheduled predictive maintenance tasks.
• To work in conjunction with the plant maintenance team and rotating equipment manager's to identify problems which result in production delays or excessive costs as well as to provide technical leadership for Rotating Equipment issues by providing recommendations and leading its execution, creating the reports to the plants maintenance management in order to identify opportunities for improvement & extend service life of Rotating Equipment.
• Provide technical engineering support for Rotating Equipment, Monitor their performance and provide technical assurance on the effective execution of related equipment maintenance strategies.
• Develop, plan and provide technical support to execute the condition monitoring / analysis and troubleshooting activities to maintain and enhance rotating equipment integrity and reliability in the assigned area.
• Participate in RCA, RCM and Technical investigations for the equipment breakdowns and provide recommendations to avoid the recurrence of the same failure. Also, provide timely attention and rectification of the machinery problems.
• Knowledge of the Reliability Engineering basic concepts (RCA, FMECA, RCM)
• Lead and act as primary resource pool for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies as needed.
• Improving reliability of rotating equipment and provide expert knowledge and support to Maintenance Managers, Plant Engineers/Specialists, Supervisors and Senior Technicians.
• Provide technical support to operations and the startup team in the development of the commissioning, start up and operating procedures for discipline specific hardware.
• Execute and comply with Permit to Work System, workers, materials, tools, services, spares, logistics, staff competences, data collection/reporting, and associated costs.
• Excellent knowledge on API standard as API-610, 611, 612, 617, 618, 619, 682, 686 etc.
• Involvement of daily activities on plant rotating equipment’s and ensuring availability of equipment by resolving rotating equipment system failures.
• Responsible for planning and execution for major overhauls of Rotating equipment like Pumps, Turbines, Compressors and others plant rotating equipment.

• Generate inspection reports with recommendations and SAP notifications, and follow up to ensure that the recommendations are implemented.

• Having experience in various manufacturer air and gas reciprocating compressor with various capacities.
• Involved in repair and changing of valves, piston ring, HP seal, bearings, cross head, piston & crank shaft.
• Involved in maintenance and troubleshooting of turbine throttle valve/control valves assembly, removing of balancing drum, labyrinth seal, over trip speed setting, tilting pad journal bearings, tilting pad thrust bearings, seal oil system.
• Having well experience of mechanical seals, single seal with single spring and multi spring, double seal with multi spring and cartridge type mechanical seal (wet and dry gas seal).
• Performed precautionary regular and breakdown maintenance on the rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gear boxes, ID, FD fans and finally fan.
• Inspection and troubleshooting with respect to drawing / manuals of above equipment.
• Expertise in managing the overhaul and repair of plants equipment’s in respective areas including regular monitoring, disassembly, repair and reassemble of equipment’s as well as implementation and modification.
