My responsibilities include: Analysing the variation orders in terms of cost and time, Managing the project contract and subcontracts’ team to ensure proper administration of the contract, subcontracts and claims in accordance with the set strategy, guidelines, policies, and procedures, Advising project/site teams of contractual rights and obligations to ensure the contractual terms and conditions. As a member of the contracts and claims centralized department in the head office, I was responsible to support in the contract administration of a number of assigned projects. This support included assisting/supporting the projects’ teams in handling the critical claims and contractual/ legal issues in their projects.
The list of projects in which I was engaged in the contract administration included the following industrial sector projects: “Natgasoline” plant in the USA with a value of USD 1.4 Billion, Al Safwa cement plant - line 2 in Saudi Arabia with a value of USD 97 Million, “Al Beida” cement plant project in Algeria with a value of USD 130 Million and “Ain El Kabira” cement plant project in Algeria with a value of USD 180 Million; the following power generation sector projects: “Jiji & Mulembwe” hydroelectric power plants project in Burundi with a value of USD 152 Million (Contract was in French language) and “Assuit” supercritical power plant project in Egypt with a value of USD 103 Million; the following commercial buildings sector projects: “Golf Views” project in Egypt with a value of 55 Million and “Greater Egyptian Museum” project in Egypt with a value of USD 931 Million, Tunnel sector projects: “the Greater Cairo Metro Line 3 (phase 4B)” project in Egypt with a value of USD 513 Million; and the following civil structural and finishing sector project: the “New Ministry of Defence” project in Egypt with a value of USD 600 Million.
