Engineering Duties:
• Engineering Scope Management & Control: reviewed and monitored mechanical / piping & pipeline design development by Saudi Aramco's approved GES+ (KBR-AMCDE) to ensure any changes in original project scope are properly documented and communicated technical input to project control department in case of cost / schedule claims to be raised to client.
• Design Optimization: reviewed mechanical / piping and pipeline engineering deliverables developed by GES+ and ensure design is workable, constructible & efficient.
• Below cost optimizations have been successfully implemented on design:
• Reduction of wall thickness requirement on pipelines which has great impact on pipes cost.
• Using Taper joints instead of Lamination joints on RTR pipeline which saved a huge cost on RTR pipes.
• Optimization of pumps, valve trims and small-bore piping materials
Construction / Pre-commissioning Duties:
• Assisted PM/CM in planning and execution of pipelines / piping construction and pre-commissioning activities related to below packages:
1) HDD Works: coordinated with sub-cont on design approval, permit processes, documentation, mobilization of HDD rigs and crew till successful execution of the crossing.
2) RTR Pipeline: managed and coordinated RTR design package, plan the resources (jointers, tools, kits, etc.), mobilizations, jointers qualifications till installation and pre- commissioning of the pipeline.
• Client Communications: to interact on daily basis with SA PMT counterpart engineers to make sure e-reviews, TQs, CRMs and other technical matters are well addressed in timely manner to support construction schedule.

Pre-commissioning Team Leader at China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd

1) Leading Pre-commissioning Teams (in-house / outsourced): resources were divided into three hydro-test crews; two field hydro-test crews and one shop (valves) hydro-test team, my duties were crew members task assignments, planning tools and equipment to make sure proper utilization of resources to achieve safe, successful and timely pre-commissioning of pipelines.
2) Pre-commissioning Support, target deliverables were:
• Construction of Hydro-test Shop.
• Pipe wall thickness calculation, component pressure rating selection for test headers for 6” up to 36” Pipelines, preparation of Material Take-offs, follow-up procurement, fabrication & the required approvals.
• Design / Drafting of temporary pig launchers / receivers
for 6” up to 36” pipelines, preparation of
MTOs, coordinating procurement & managing fabrication.
• Preparation of Hydro-test calculations (Max, Min &
Applied Test Pressures along pipelines route) to ensure hydro-test stresses conditions of SAES-L-150, para 8.1 are met.
• Preparation of Hydro-test Overall Plan: specifying test section lengths, water chemical analysis, evaporation bonds LUP process, water disposal.

Senior Project Engineer at Arabian Pipelines & Services Company (ANABEEB)
