o Accountability: Coordinate team activities. The team is including Researchers from HeadQuarter and Operating Engineers from the Subsidiary and Contractors.
o Tasks Summary:
• Follow-up and up-date a Field pilot of Data Validation and Reconciliation (DVR) approach (edited by BELSIM) used for virtual metering purpose; in coordination with Operational Engineers (Well-Performance, Reservoir Monitoring and Maintenance): The model include the Electrical Submersible Pump performance, the in-well pressure correlation and Multiphase Flow Meter model. The goal is to reconcile at a given time all the set of measurements (Pressure and Temperature) with production data (flow rates, BSW and GOR) when the well is in test and estimate the production data when the well isn’t on the test riser. The pilot is running online each hour.
• Modeling of the production treatment process (at Halul island) using DVR approach edited by BELSIM (VALI©). The goal is to reconcile measured data with the production Fiscal Meter.
• The production flowing behavior has been analyzed in order to address the transient effects for simulation and modeling: Transport pipeline of production has been modeled.
• Assess the capabilities of LedaFlow Simulator© (edited by Kongsberg) to address AL-Khalij field production issues: Mainly Emulsions Flow.
• Three Technologies of Multiphase Flow Meter (MPFM) have been investigated and studied; PhaseWatcher-VX, Roxar and the Pietro-Fiorentini which is non-gamma meter: The studies consist of Data Analyses, Modeling and Calibration Support. The challenge is to extend their operational envelope to cover Al-Khalij operational conditions (Mature Field).
• Establish R&D collaborations with local partners (Research Centers and Universities).
• Participate in regional and/or international Conferences to promote the work carried out.

Job description:
• Member of FM&IS project team (Field Management & Information System). It is a pluridisciplinary team of Engineers from Sonatrach, Halliburton/Weatherford. This project leads to an online tool (close to Real Time) to Control & Optimization of Hassi-Messaoud field Production. The main duty was to built in-wells models using WellFlo© and build pipelines network model using Reo©. The main challenge was to optimize well oil production versus gas-lift system: Matching scenarios assessment in terms of performance and costs. Note that Hassi-Messaoud field is a mature field characterized by low Index of Productivity (IP).
• Establish recommendations in order to reduce the gap of production between the wells-heads and the industrial process plants.
• Visit of onshore sites and industrial plants to get input data for modeling activities and performance follow-up.
• I have gotten trainings on wells modeling, pipelines-network modeling and reservoir modeling organized by Halliburton.

Numerical and experimental validation of the viscoelastic models by studying the behavior of LDPE (Low Density PolyEthylene) in 3D contraction flow
o Numerical simulation of molten branched-polymer (LDPE) flow through different geometry with an abrupt contraction. The goal was to develop in-house simulation software for industrial process of plastic materials (Extrusion, Injection ...).
o The validation of the viscoelastic model (called POM-POM) was achieved through comparison between numerical results and experimental data. The model was a CFD program based on finite elements and written using MatLab. Experiments consist of material characterization, flow visualization and flow birefringence induction analyses.
o Presentation of results and communication in scientific congress and workshops.
o Writing of scientific articles and technical reports.
