The 3 year program will be offered in a course unit system in semesters. Hence the program will comprise 6 semesters, each of 15 weeks duration. The total program would be of 102 credits. The first 2 years of the program (first 4 semesters) will comprise course work presented in week day classes followed During either Semester 5 or Semester 6 approximately one semester of in-plant training will be required for which a report must be written. As students will be working on week days during Semesters 5 and 6 classes being conducted on weekends. There are two specialization areas namely, human resource management and marketing management. Tourism management was considered but did not meet a favourable response at the stakeholder meetings. Some optional core subject units have been incorporated into the course – one each in Semester 4 and Semester 6. These are designed to cater for the varied interests of students. Due to administrative requirements it may be necessary to standardise which units will be offered across all SLIATE institutions during any calendar year.
