My Job purpose as a Laundry manager is responsibility for linen processing, service and control. The Manager ensures that an adequate supply of clean fresh linen is routinely provided to both campuses. The Manager monitors linen utilization to ensure that it is properly utilized. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining employee morale at a high level, meeting the requirements of regulatory agencies, budgetary objectives, and maintaining excellent Guest Relations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises all laundry personnel to ensure that highest possible quality, hygiene and finish standard of hotel linen maintained at all the times.
2. Inspects Guest Laundry, Dry Cleaning and presswork on a daily basis, to ensure optimum quality of work, prompt pick-up and on time delivery of garments.
3. Coordinates with Director of Housekeeper and Director Food and Beverage Manager to ensure that there is an adequate supply of linen and uniforms available at all times, in particular on weekends/Holidays.
4. Monitors wash formulas and use of washroom chemical in order to maintain whiteness/brightness of linen and to ensure linen is returned to user departments free of stains and unpleasant odors.
5. Maintain record of wash rejects and in case of excessive reject areas, improves wash formulas accordingly.
6. Ensure that types of laundry chemical used are in line with Starwoods recommendations.
7. Reviews the laundry’s environmental performance and achievements twice a year.
8. On an annual basis, check with local environmental authorities for new code requirements.
9. Develops and implements standard operating procedures, as well as production and quality standards.
10. Checks constantly all laundry and dry cleaning equipment, to ensure that machines are kept clean, properly maintained and efficient operating condition
11. Prepares maintenance requisitions and maintains a follow-up file to ensure that equipment does not fall into disrepair.
12. Schedules working times in a way to optimize production, utilization of equipment as well as utilization of water and energy.
13. Proposes/implements in coordination with Director of Chief Engineer, possible energy savings in the laundry and dry cleaning department.
14. Assist Purchasing department and House Keeping Department in analysis and selection of new linen and uniforms.
15. Controls and analysis, on an ongoing basis, departmental labor and material cost, to ensure performance against budget.
16. Prepares the laundry and dry cleaning department budget/goals.
17. Prepares a monthly Laundry and dry cleaning production summary report.
18. Establishes and update a 5-year plan, including necessary replacement/ addition of equipment in order to further upgrade the Laundry Department.
19. Controlling consumption and stocking up of all chemicals and other supplies.
20. Approving store requisitions in order to ensure the operation runs smoothly and maintain the stocks/inventory of items.
21. Planning and executing special projects to upgrade facilities and services.
22. Approving shift of personnel from one job to another when needed.
23. On an annual basis, reviews prices for Guest Laundry/Dry Cleaning/Pressing to ensure they are competitive with those Key hotel competitors.
24. Keeps track of new trends, methods, chemicals, textiles and equipment in the laundry and dry cleaning industry, through trade magazines and by visiting other laundry and dry cleaning plants.

Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety and ensure your direct reports do the same
Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures
Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are logged investigated and rectified to prevent future catastrophes.
Responsible for pick up and delivery of guest Laundry & Dry-cleaning works. and helps the finishing of guest's cloths in dry-cleaning section.
Under the supervision of guest Laundry Supervisor. he / she able to do the charging of guest' 5 bills.
