KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AS QUALITY CONTROL EXECUTIVE AND QUALITY INSPECTOR:
Quality Control:
• Assist senior personnel in meeting objectives of the quality control department and ensure adherence with standards prescribed in the quality control and quality assurance policy of the company.
• Prepare the food safety manual, communicate vital requirements to Managers and teams across all restaurants and administer provisions outlined in the manual to prevent food spoilage and wastage.
• Monitor and regulate operations at the company’s retail food outlets to ensure compliance with food safety and quality parameters, perform process / standardization audits to verify adherence to quality procedures and initiate corrective measures in case of non-compliance.
• Conduct food safety tests using standard testing tools, assess the quality of raw materials received at various outlets and liaise directly with suppliers to regulate quality of ready-made foods / packaged foods / processed foods / raw materials.
• Analyze customer feedback and complaints regarding food quality served at retail outlets / restaurants, initiate improvements to meet statutory quality norms and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work with external quality control and testing agencies to investigate and address issues in production of foods on a large scale for supply to company’s restaurants / retail outlets across the region.
• Inspect all areas of the restaurants including kitchen, serving platforms, cleaning area and dining rooms to ensure hygienic conditions, verify cleanliness of utensils, spoons and ladles used in cooking and oversee storage / refrigeration.
Administration and Functional Support:
• Generate MIS to outline the performance of the department, present reports to the senior management for review and note recommendations for performance improvement.
• Interact with statutory authorities to submit required paperwork, secure approvals and permits for conducting catering operations across the region in the authorized manner.
• Research and implement standard food storage, heating, refrigeration, preparation and food handling techniques, ensure that highly perishable food items reach points-of-sale in time and coordinate food safety programs at restaurants.
• Train the staff on maintenance of hygiene, sanitation and safe working practices (especially when dealing with kitchen equipment, furnace, water boilers etc.) and maintain a safe working environment.
