Responsibilities:
1. Delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials - developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research.
2. Designing, preparing and developing teaching materials using software tools.
3. Assessing students' coursework - setting and marking examinations, supporting students through a pastoral or advisory role.
4. Undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research profile.
5. Supervising students' research activities - Access the student's research interest and lead their insights to develop productive proposals.
6. Completing continuous professional development (CPD) and participating in staff training activities - Using platforms such as Livechat to interact with students online.
7. Carrying out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programmes and involvement in committees and boards.
8. Managing and supervising staff - representing the institution at professional conferences and seminars - Head Academic Specialist at Biotecnika - Have taken lectures for Oxford University Master's Students.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - Project JRF
Laboratory: Laboratory of Bacterial Genetics (LBG)
Model Organism - Escherichia coli (E.coli)
Role: Project JRF
Research: Arginine Transport in E.coli.
Responsibilities
1. Carry out Research in the area of Bacterial Genetics.
2. Perform experiments to prove the hypothesis.
3. Report results obtained from experiments during laboratory meetings.
4. Plan and perform confirmatory experiments from leads obtained.
5. Record all results in an ordered fashion - Both Electronically and physically.
6. Perform routine laboratory contamination checks.
7. Participate in inter-laboratory research bridges.
8. Poster preparation of work carried out for conferences.
9. Attend Research conferences in different institutes.
10. Abide by the research ethics.
Skills:
1. Excellent grip on Molecular DNA Genetics.
2. Expertise in handling various laboratory instruments - PCR, Microscopes, Centrifuges, LAF hoods, Synthesizers etc.
3. Expertise in handling the model organism - Escherichia coli with good knowledge of GLP (good laboratory practices).
4. Good Know-how in designing molecular experiments to decipher gene functions or unknown genes.
5. Well versed in the area of poster and paper presentation for research seminars.

Details; Degree: M.Sc Genomics Programme: DBT - IPLS (Department of Biotechnology - Integrated Programme for Life Sciences) University - Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) City - Madurai State - Tamil Nadu In India, there are only two universities offering this unique course in genomics - One of them is Madurai Kamaraj University. In MKU per year only 20 students are selected for this course on the basis of challenging examination and interview process under the norms of DBT (Department of Biotechnology, India). I have cleared this selection process and enrolled for Integrated M.Sc PhD in Genomics course. I have completed my M.Sc Genomics successfully in june 2014.

This is the second highest ever secured in the school till date.
