• Support Project Director, in order to complete the project on time, with due consideration to the quality, cost impact and project specifications/ requirements.
• Review and responsible for the overall plan, design review, Engineering, coordination, procurement (in conjunction with MEP contractors, main contractor and suppliers teams), and implementation/ execution of respective section of works.
• Review, respond and approvals of shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, etc., administration and follow up with suppliers, sub-contractor, main contractor and etc. for timely completion of project.
• Provide and coordinate for all technical Information, work method, sequence, testing and commissioning etc.
• Coordinating and review a closeout document and handing over to operation and maintenance teams.
• Report to the Resident Engineer (M&E) and participate in the construction supervision of all electrical items including electro-mechanical works, the electrical cables (HV, MV, LV), electrical substations, street lightings and low current system of the project and ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.
• Maintain a daily diary or daily report of construction activities (related to electrical works) and consolidate those of junior inspectors; ensure timely reporting of consequent findings and issues to the Resident Engineer and provide expert advice as necessary
• Control /manage the Electrical Inspectors by giving guidance for the work supervision activities and maintain quality and safety to meet client satisfaction
• Liaise with client’s technical staff and visit potential job sites, as required, to verify project needs.
• Leads development of electrical commissioning specifications and electrical test procedures required to validate the installation and performance of power distribution (HV, MV, LV) systems, controls and ELV systems.
• Contract administration, Claims and variations review.
• Support team by checking for accuracy and completeness of project deliverables.
• Initiates and leads quality assurance and commissioning from design through post-occupancy.
• Contribute to weekly client reports identifying key issues, matters for resolution and provides a clear and effective mechanism for exception reporting. And Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues (manage client expectations)
• Review progress on site vs. the progress that is reported by the contractor. If there are areas where installations are progressing without drawings/submittals approved, raise as risk on site visit list and as observation in QMS.
• Evaluating project and conducting project cost / benefit analysis at project decision points.
• Assist with FAT and SAT testing of designed systems.
• Ensure the correctness and completeness of as-built drawings and final inspection. Review the adequacy and accuracy of the punch lists, snagging and de-snagging.
• Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plans for alternative actions.
• Evaluating the quotations received technically based on the project specifications.
• Complies with project manager guidelines and reporting duties including but not limited to:
- Project Execution - Project Deadlines
- Client Communication - Team Utilization
• Kept abreast of all changes in state regulations regarding electrical systems, Analyzed and interpreted test results
• Identifies software and systems required for the administration of the project construction supervision.
• Ensure the MEP work carried out is as per approved shop drawing and within the time frame and progress of the approved construction program.
• Ensure that the installation, inspection and testing of all the MEP equipment, fittings and work implemented meets the specification and the senior engineer comments.
• Verify the accuracy of shop drawings and their compliance to the specification, consultant’s design and existing local authority standard.
• Coordinate with other project personnel to ensure that deadlines, procedures, and other project requirements are met.
• Administered inspections of all electrical systems as required like fire alarm, power, data, lighting, lightning, Grounding, Telephone systems, etc.
• Review of tender document including the scope of work, specifications, value engineering, tender
• Responsible for the review of electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and Review Material submittals, shop drawing Log, method statement.
• Follow up day to day and other electrical activities based on the daily work plan.
• Check and verify the accuracy and quality of work at site for all electrical systems as per the approved shop drawings, project specifications, relevant engineering codes and standard.
• Check and review the electrical method statements, inspection test plan project quality control and QA/QC records, pre commissioning test and final commissioning test.
• Resolve any related construction of engineering at site issues
• Coordinate to engineering, construction and project management teams
• Project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
• Direct and/or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
• To follow up ISO 9001:2008 related documentation and implementation.
• Controlling, monitoring and reporting of works progress in projects.
• Technical and installations support at sites.
• Study Electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
• Study Project controls, cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
• Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Department Manager and or engineering specialist on unusual or complex problems.
• Assigns and coordinates works to Drafters, Designers, and Engineers.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other data to plan and design work.
