BCC is a statutory body under the ICT Division, Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology, Government of Bangladesh for encouraging and providing support for ICT related activities in Bangladesh.
My major responsibilities are-
- Implement and Monitor systems like DNS Server, Mail Server, Proxy Server, Web Server, FTP Server, DHCP Server, Bandwidth Manager and others related to ISP.
- Work for extending the connectivity between ISP of BCC and other ministry and divisions.
- Monitor and Troubleshoot links between ISP and other organizations like Government Ministries, Departments and Divisions;
- Maintain the backbone LAN of BCC, its project offices and all the computer labs;
- Monitor & troubleshoot the power systems including Generator, UPS etc and air cooling system and maintain communication with maintenance service providers of those equipments.
- Preparing technical specification, procuring goods for cyber centers in open tendering method;
- Managing and monitoring the supply and Installation of computers, printers, UPS, furniture and modems to the cyber centers
- Managing and monitoring the establishment of LANs of Cyber Centers in selected university and university colleges;
- Managing administrative, financial and legal issues among university administration, vendors and government ministries.
- Managing and coordinating warranty service after completion of the project.
I worked under the IT Firm "Total Office Systems & Solutions (TOSS)" for establishing broadcasting automation of Bangladesh Betar (Which is government own radio broadcasting organization). Major work I have done are-
- Collecting information regarding existing broadcasting facilities;
- Providing suggestion for broadcasting hardware and software for implementing automation system;
- Providing training to the radio engineers on
- Recording and editing audio in different formats;
- Creating audio database and storing them in a remote server;
- Creating schedule, auto announcement, voice intro, jingles, etc.
I worked in the project named “Development of Infrastructure for IT Applications” (DIITA ) implemented by BCC under Ministry of Science and ICT. My major responsibilities are-
- Implement and Monitor systems like DNS Server, Mail Server, Proxy Server, Web Server, FTP Server, DHCP Server, Bandwidth Manager and others related to ISP.
- Monitor and Troubleshoot links between ISP and other organizations like Government Ministries, Departments and Divisions;
- Monitor and troubleshoot the backbone LAN of BCC, its project offices and computer labs;
- Monitor the RS6000 IBM Mainframe computer and its accessories.
- Monitor & troubleshoot the air cooling & power systems including Generator & Online UPS and maintain communication with maintenance service providers of those equipments.
I worked in the project named “Bangladesh-Korea Institute of ICT” (BKIICT)- Project established by BCC under Ministry of Science and ICT. The major work I had done are-
- Implemented and developed the network with IBM X-Series servers, Cisco routers and switches in the MDF room and six well equipped modern computer training labs.
- Installed, configured and managed about 150 workstations with various software and hardware (like local & network printers, Plotter, Digitizer, Multimedia Projector etc.).
- Monitored & maintained smooth running of air cooling & power systems including Generator & Online UPS and supervised the maintenance support from different vendors.
- Taught / Trained the students of Post Graduate Diploma in ICT courses and other short term training courses on different subjects especially on Networking and Hardware Maintenance & Troubleshooting.
It was a project named “Assistance to the Secondary Education for Introducing Computer Course” and run by BCC under Ministry of Science and ICT. My major duties are-
- Implemented and developed the LAN in the project office.
- Installed, configured and managed more than 800 PCs with various software and hardware to distribute them among the schools and to use in the project office and training labs.
- Provided technical and advisory support to educational institutes throughout the country under the project purview. This also includes upgrading hardware and software in the system appropriate for dissemination of IT education among students at the secondary level.
- Coordinated & trained the participants (school teachers) of the on going training courses and performed administrative tasks of the project office.
Installation and Maintenance of 40 to 650 KVA electrical generators in different Industries and offices. Maintenance and troubleshooting of those electrical generators were my routine work.
Conducting lectures and Practical Classes on Electrical Circuit, Electrical Machine, Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Power, Switch Gear and Protective Devices, Electrical Measurement and Measuring Instruments.
