Responsibilities:
Reviews and gives approvals for all mechanical related submissions by the contractor.
• Verifies that materials, manufactured goods, machinery, equipment, etc supplied to the job site are in line with projects specification and granted approvals.
• Ensures that the mechanical drawings are in line and coordinated with other discipline design drawings of the project prior proceeding with work and to highlight to the project manger of any discrepancies for necessary corrections.
• Inspects site for mechanical work/installations and ensures that the carried out works are in compliance with contract drawings and documents. Advises the Project Manager on the progress any monitored discrepancies.
• Conducts site visits to advise Project Managers of any field issues and attends any co-ordination meetings required.
• Observes and witnesses all buried services and gives approval prior to concreting/filling.
• Arranges for samples of workmanship and establishes minimum acceptable standards.
• Advises Project Manager on requirements and programming of all services and co-ordinates the actions of contractor, the relevant authorities and all other sub-contractors and services involved.
• Assist and provides necessary data/information required by the project manger for the Preparation of reports (includes labour and supervision, plant and equipment, status, site progress, amendments, delays, etc.) for submission to Client.
• Advises Project Manager on progress of mechanical work and suggests actions.
• Inspects and attends maintenance works during maintenance and defect liability period.
• Reviews Operations and Maintenance Manuals, as built drawings for completeness of documents.
Working as a Mechanical Engineer Experience Details:
• Monitoring the relevant works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Reviewing, approving and processing all relevant technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to relevant works.
• Coordinating and supervising the work of all relevant activities and operations
• Reviewing contractors relevant change order proposals and preparing recommendations.
• Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors claims related to relevant works and preparing recommendations for claims.
• Reviewing the contractor's project record documents relevant to their discipline
• Managing the relevant inspectors.
• Analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start- up, testing, commissioning and handover of the relevant works.
• Signing off on completed relevant works with completed documentation.
• Perform all other duties given by the PE.
• Assisting the General Manager in the Project Work from the beginning stage till the submission.
• Detailed study of scope of work, Specification, Equipment Schedule and BOQ (Tender) etc.
• Design Submission and Preparation of Design and Analysis Report to submit the client.
• Preparation of Bill of Quantities and floating the enquiries to the venders.
• Mobilization of manpower for execution of the project.
• Preparation of Daily & Weekly program based on one month look ahead program.
• Preparation of Daily, Weekly and One Month progress report.
• Preparation of the detailed Site quantities requirement based on the consultants approved drawings.
• Preparation of Work Method Statement as per specification and standard norms.
• Supervision of installation of HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting items as per standard norms.
• Floating Request for Inspection of installations to Consultant and rectifying if any snag works / comments.
• Floating request to consultant for material inspection as per submittals and specification.
• Coordination with all other services like Architectural & Electrical, etc towards successful completion of project.
• Coordinating with Architect / Contractors during the execution of the project.
• Attending the weekly site meeting with consultant and sub contractors.
• Preparation of appropriate documents for handing over the Project (Mechanical Services).
