In June of 2006 I was promoted to Manager Operations, which meant that I was solely responsible for the smooth functioning of the Operations Department. My designation also made me the second-in-command at the branch and the officiating manager in the absence of the Branch Manager. I was also responsible for ensuring that monthly reporting to head office were submitted in a timely manner, and for ensuring that all payments related to the branch were made in a timely fashion, as well as ensuring Audit Compliance. Additional training courses attended: Centralized Account Opening, KYC & AML, Credits, Prevention of Frauds & Forgeries, Attaining a Better Audit Rating, Customer Services, and Personal Effectiveness.

Bank Al-Falah is one of the fastest growing banks in Pakistan, with more than 350 branches in the country and looking to continue its expansion in domestic and international markets. I was inducted into the bank with the Management Trainee class of 2004; after a ten week class-room training program I was assigned to the SITE Area branch for a six-month on-the-job-training stint in Operations. Five months later I was transferred to the newly opened Hyderi (North Nazimabad) Branch and appointed Cash Department Incharge, which meant that I was solely incharge of Account Opening and all related activities, overseeing Clearing, Remittances, and cash, while also being one of three key-holders at the branch. As aresult I had a total of five people reporting directly or in-directly to me.
