Completes a range of tasks within the team, including: measurement of quantities, pricing cost plans, seeking quotations for various pieces of works, preparing bills of quantities (BoQ’s), preparing & compiling tender documentation, ‘side by side’ tender analysis & tender reporting, preparing post tender clarifications (PTC’s) for tendering Contractors & Sub-Contractors, various procurement activities, preparing contract documentation, cost forecasting, variation management & assessment etc., market testing, post contract payment administration & liaising with clients & contractors, assisting with upkeep of the technical library, including cost data, benchmarks and maintenance of the various asset databases, assists with various report formatting, data management and quality assurance procedures across all core service lines.
- Feasibility estimates, cost planning (presenting with no supervision), contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, dispute resolution, post contract management (competent in cost reporting).
- Preparation of Contractors Interim Valuations based on Site Inspections
- Review and agreement of Contractors Variations including preparation of new rates.
- Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the
performance management process.
- Working on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a
variety of factors and appropriate problem solving.

Notable projects:

1. Decommissioning and Demolition of BAFCO Arad Depot, Pipeline, and BAFCO3
This was a demolition project in Bahrain, and works on site are currently nearing completion.

2. Danatt Marina (Phases 2 and 3).
I fulfilled the Senior Quantity Surveyor role by leading a team of Quantity Surveyors in the preparation of a pre-tender estimate (bills of quantities) and a cost plan report. This project entailed the building of roads, including infrastructure and utilities, on a newly formed island.

3. Island 9 (Phase 1)
I fulfilled the senior quantity surveyor role by leading a team of quantity surveyors for the preparation of the pre-tender estimate (bills of quantities). The project included the full roadworks, infrastructure, and utilities for Phare 1 of the island.

4. NEOM (the line)
This project consisted of modules, each 800m long, 200m wide, and 500m high, each of which had its own unique design within the NEOM parameters. While this project was still in the concept design stage, analytical skills were pertinent in unlocking the basis of cost determination when being compared to the budget allocation. This project is likely to be considered one of the biggest projects in the world.

5. NEOM Trojena
This is the Icononic Ski Village development. I had been involved in the review of designs and costs prepared by the appointed consultant. The purpose of this has been to provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the client. This project entails many specialist materials and installations and is unique in nature.

6. NEOM Moon
This is a stupendous project and the first of its kind. My involvement has been preparing reports and providing feedback to the client based on cost and design reviews undertaken.

7. NEOM Sindalah Red Sea Events
This project entailed the remeasurement of Red Sea Events building packages to assist the client in concluding an auditing process.

8. NEOM Sindalah Island
My involvement entailed analyzing consultant cost reports and determining benchmarks for the various asset categories.

Notable projects:

1. Westville Training Academy and Office of the Premier.
The estimated project value was R450 million. This project was of an advanced architectural design with many specialist installations. My involvement ranged from the inception stage to the design, development, and documentation stages. This project has taught me the importance of value management and value engineering.

2. Estherpayne Secondary School
The estimated project value was R3.9 million. This was a small yet complex project due to its contractual nature. The project was stopped for a one-year period due to project constraints. The project then recommenced, and the final account had been prepared by myself and approved by the client for a successful project closeout. This project has taught me the importance of cost control and financial management.

3. Ebuhlenibenkosi Secondary School
The final contract value was R 39 million. I have been involved from construction to the close-out stage. This project was managed impeccably, with the final account approved and the project successfully closed out. This project has enhanced my ability to monitor and administer projects of a complex nature.

4. Folweni Police Station.
The estimated project value is R160 million. This project is currently in the detail design and documentation stages. This project comprised an advanced level of design with high-end specifications.

5. Campsdrift residential, commercial, and health care development
The project value is R1.5 billion. This project is currently in the detailed design and documentation stages. My employer at the time was the client, and I fulfilled my role as the quantity surveyor on this project. This project had improved my management abilities and advanced my experience in measuring abilities and cost planning techniques.

6. Centennial and JCG hospitals
The estimated project value for each of these hospitals is R500 Million. These projects are both in the design-development stage. My employer at the time was the client, and I was the assigned quantity surveying for this project. This project has enhanced my management skills.

7. ACSA Kingshaka International Airport (construction of new prayer facilities, a new staff rest area, and internal reconfiguration of the existing MSO office building).
The contract sum was R27 million Rand. This project was under construction. This project had a short contract duration due to stakeholders’ urgent requirements. Time and cost management were key aspects of the success of this project.

8. Repairs and Renovations to SA Naval Base
The estimated budget for this project was R237 million. This project is of a prestige nature and has aided my understanding of the advanced security requirements of the base and the intricacies of repairs and renovations.

2. Uniwest Motor Show Room. The final contract value was R6 million. This project was of a unique nature with impeccable architectural design. This project enhanced my ability to manage and control costs from inception to completion.
