Managing estimation department which consists of 5 estimators and created complete estimates for projects ranging in value from $100K - $30MIL.
Ability to work with all types of projects as a main contractor (MC) or design and build (DB) with the following tasks and responsibilities as an Estimation or Bid Management Department Head:
1-Cooperate effectively with business development department head to ensure a smooth continues flow of prospect clients’ invitations to participate in their new RFP’s.
2-Receive tender request (RFP)
3-Studying, analyzing or generating - in case of design and build projects -tender document which includes but not limited to the following:
A-Bills Of Quantities - Tasks and responsibilities:
- (DB) Surveying design drawings to extract and tailor BOQ items with its quantities and relative specifications.
- (MC) Reviewing and analyzing BOQ items and breaking down its components (supplies, installation, waste percentages, etc.) for pricing of each component with specialized sub-contractors, vendors or labor cost.
B-Specifications - Tasks and responsibilities:
- (DB) Tailoring CSI divisions’ specification to meet project’s budget and quality requirements.
-(MC) Deep analysis for specification to understand the requirements/components of each item.
C-Drawings - Tasks and responsibilities:
-(DB) Contribution with ideas for design and finishing materials, generating finishes & fixtures schedules.
-(MC) Reviewing against BOQ items to ensure consistency of requirements for pricing of cost.
D-Contract - Tasks and responsibilities:
-(DB) Contribution in forming contract special conditions.
-(MC) Reviewing cost impact resulted from contract clauses and conditions.
4-(DB & MC Projects).Ensuring consistency of requirements throughout and conformity with what is written in all tender documents
5-(DB & MC Projects) Inspecting and surveying project’s site, environment, temporary storage locations, temporary sources for water and electricity, temporary paths and roads, material dumps and the like which are necessary for the execution of the Works and if seeking LEED certification able to contribute in accreditation through Implementing pollution prevention and waste management plans.
6-(DB projects) Arranging hiring of a freelance MEP team/Consultant to cover up the requirements of the project, from conceptual phase till tendering/construction.
7-Prepare project technical offer (MC) that includes:
A-Materials and fixtures schedules, catalogues, cut sheets and specifications.
B-Project time schedule
C-Project Vendor List
8-Submit cost sheet to the top management for review and negotiate the overhead & profit
9-Writing letter of tender with terms, conditions, responsibilities, deviations.
10-Follow up with within the period of tender validity for requested revisions and clarifications.
11-Attending sessions of tender opening/negotiations
12-Analyzing reports of sessions of tender opening to accumulate historical data of competitors pricing strategies.
13-Receive letter of intent “LOI” in case of offer acceptance.
14-Receive contract draft and review with relevant departments to take needed actions.
15-Submit complete file containing all correspondence/offers between estimation department and sub-contractors/vendors to procurement department within kick off meeting while reviewing the projects’ estimation planned strategies of cost to be applied or reviewed in procurement plans and schedules.

16-Ability to manage the rest of project’s life cycle through the procurement processes during the construction phase, Examples:
- VOX Cinemas-Mall of Egypt, Area: 17, 000 Sq. M, Value: 8, 052, 200 USD, Duration: 8 Months
- Mercedes Benz - Cairo Office, Area: 1250 Sq. M, Value: 537, 919 USD, Duration: 4 months
