This position provided me with experience of larger scale events such as banquets. I was not only involved in the preparation and planning for events but also involved with the actual running of the events. This was also an opportunity for me to put University theory into practise, I was able to offer practical solutions to problems, show my leadership skills and deal with high profile clients.
This position included all general bar staff duties but also allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills and provided the opportunity to realise the importance of quality customer service. Whilst at this job, my creativity was encouraged and I was actively involved in the preparation and planning for parties and events.
This job gave me another opportunity to use and develop my people skills as I was involved in meeting and greeting customers and providing information about the brewery and it’s products. I gained sales experience for both clothing and gifts; including using the till, refunds, packing and stock taking. This was also another opportunity to use my telephone and computer skills as we regularly had telephone and internet orders.
This position enabled me to gain experience in meeting and greeting clients, as well as performing general admin and reception duties. I also fulfilled secretarial tasks when needed including audio typing and replying to client letters and emails.
