o Perform standardized assessments that include ability, achievement and behavior assessments.
o Write reports after administering the assessments and give oral feedback to parents.
o Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, and professionals to develop IEPs (Individual Educational Plans) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social development.
o Monitor teachers and teacher assistants to ensure that they adhere to inclusive special education program requirements.
o Follow-up on teachers’ performance, that includes interaction with students during the classroom session, weekly planning, using research based strategies, continuous assessments, students’ progress and professional development.
o Provide accommodations and modifications for teachers to use in their regular classrooms to apply with students.
o Train teachers to use research based special education programs (Recipe for Reading, Lindamood phonemic sequencing program, Visual Verbalization program, Cloud Math program, DT and Activity Trainer program).
o Develop workshops for teachers targeting research based strategies to improve students’ reading, spelling and written expression skills. In addition to workshops that includes behavior modification strategies, assessments, writing IEPs, reading psycho-educational reports, setting a special education department etc…
o Interviewing new candidates applying for special education teacher, speech therapists and counselors.
o Develop professional development plans for the center that includes: planning of new departments, relationship with schools, shadow teaching and early intervention programs.
