Responsibilities:
• Taking briefs from the client/ end user and producing concept layouts.
• Visiting current projects on site and overseeing site inspection staff.
• Assessing Material and Drawing Submittals for current contract RFIs etc.
• Coordinating with other design team members mainly Structure and MEP.
• Liaising with Design and Build contractor.
• Lead architect on FFE liaising with and inspecting submissions from contractor’s Interior Designers and other specialist suppliers.
• Mock up reviews etc.
• Coordinating drawing office staff and inspectors on a daily basis.
•Multiple IIP ( Integrated Infrastructure Project) The project consisted of design and build of 12 Infrastructure buildings including Headquarter Offices for Ma’aden, Fire Station/Clinic, Visitors Centre /Security Building, Masjid, Bus Station, Vehicle Maintenance and Training Centres, Helipad and other support facilities. Value $135 million; Team size 80; Completed October 2013.
• Responsibilities:
• Initially Resident at the Dammam based Vendor architects offices to review and approve drawings.
• Mobilized to site at Raz Al Khair working with the Fluor PMC team. o
• Liaised with specialist subcontractors / suppliers for commercial kitchens and office FFE structural and MEP team members.
• Job Title: Self Employed / Director (Commenced private practice in Limerick Ireland - The practice peaked to 7 team members in number with turnover in excess of $1, 000, 000 in 2006).
• Projects / Value: - Various Projects/ Commissions with Neil Bennett Associates included:
• Parknasilla Great Southern Hotels - 1.5m euro commission from Great Southern Hotels for various extensions to Parknasilla GSH. http://www.parknasillaresort.com/
• Great Southern Hotels ( Irish Government Owned) - Various refurbishment projects at Corrib and Eyre Square Hotels Galway, Shannon and Killarney Great Southern Hotels and preparation of a 10 year refurbishment plan for the Irish Government appointed Board of Directors.
• Irish Government (Dept. of Arts Sports and Tourism and the Department of Justice Equality and Law Reform) - Preparation of reports on EU funded projects for various new Arts Centres, Libraries and Creche Facilities.
• Hotel Refurbishments for Lee Hotels, Fitzpatrick Hotels and various others.
• Master plan for Dairygold Co Op stores, Munster, Ireland
• New Build 12 million euro 3000m2 retail store for Dairygold Co Op. ( Value 12 million euro)
• Interior and façade design of two award winning stores for Keanes Jewellers, Limerick and Cork Value 1million Euro.
• Design to completion of Town Centre retail and office/ residential developments in Killaloe, Co. Clare and Castleconnell, Co. Limerick. Value 2.25 million Euro each.
• Various private house commissions including a 2million euro house in County Tipperary.
• Design of 12m euro theme park for a Limerick based Charity, Share A Dream.
• Design and production of construction drawings for an 8m euro Residential Addiction Treatment Centre in County Limerick.
• Conversion of existing City Centre Mall Units to one large apartment store for Guineys Department Stores.
• Presented an article on home renovation for the RIAI / Simon Community on RTE national television magazine programme (April 2010).
• Master Planning and design of various private housing schemes ranging from 12 to 465 units.
• Master Planning for a 16 million euro theme park at Bunratty Folk Park, County Clare.
• Concept Design for a Conference Centre at the Former Dell Factory Limerick. 36, 000 sq / m.
Completed a 3 year Undergraduate BA Degree in Architecture in Architectural Studies followed by a 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture. I also passed my Parts 1, 2 and 3 RIBA exams as part of this procedure.
