I work as a freelance translator, translating excel sheets of products from English to Arabic and vice-versa within a fixed deadline: Beauty, cosmetic and hygienic products and their respective descriptions and usage instructions.

I also spend my spare time honing my skills by volunteering at Translators without borders and by subtitling and translating coursera courses, I’ve become proficient in using MateCat, Smartling and the Kato TM (Over 15K words Translated so far on both platforms combined).

I use a CAT (Computer-assisted translation) software to do the initial phase of translating; I adjust as necessary to maintain accuracy and fluency. As a reference, I check any glossaries related to the subject I am tackling so I can use the correct terminology. I revise each work twice to fix any errors I may have previously missed.

I've spent most of my academic careers working as a freelance writer assisting college students with their essays and any other research they had to do.

This is a very satisfying job for me because i love the creativity it allowed me to tap into, as well as the fact that I love writing.

I was part of a team of 6 people responsible of transforming the UNHCR's archives to digital data.

We checked their files for discrepancies. And organized and classified each file accordingly.

We had a designated number of files that we had to finish each day, and it was an eye-opening experience working there.

I learned how to cooperate and assist my colleagues in anything they required and as well as how to coordinate with other teams that were also working on the archives.
