an ambitious Government program to be implemented in Makkah by Wadi Ibrahim for Development and Construction Company, within one kilometre of the Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia,
The project will create a sustainable and highly livable urban district, rooted in the local culture of Makkah and representative of the scale and patterns of use that have evolved around the site. The phased redevelopment includes land uses Hotel, retail, and housing. Medical, these are organized within a network of well-designed streets, civic destinations, public institutions, and richly varied and memorable open spaces that will provide a rewarding experience to those who visit Makkah, work, or live.
Responsibilities include creating urban design and landscape concepts and accordance with the team work program and Coordination with developer in KSA; organizing and supervising the work of engineers and providing support and advice to project teams; Identifying, evaluating, and resolving Project Management issues during the early work phase, Review planning and monitor execution of the work, Primary point of contact for all activities
King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Project for Makkah is one of the biggest projects in Saudi Arabia - western region. As the centre of gravity for the Muslim World, Makkah attracts millions of pilgrims and visitors throughout the year and keeps on increasing. In order to catch it up, it requires continuous development and enhancement of the urban environment in general and the transportation sector in particular(with the aim of the year 1462H to minimize traffic congestions, increase pedestrian safety and facilitate crowd movement especially within the holy sites).
Responsibilities included urban design and landscape review & analysis for the concept and schematic designs; Preparing design criteria reports Manage, produce, review and approve project design drawings from concept to the tender stage, coordinates with other disciplines and trends, GIS Coordinator.
