Established connections across Europe to access game feeds
and setup satalite downlinks to capture and con gure video
recordings.
Performed duties in the gallery which included, Camera setup
and racking, Vision Mixer programming, lighting, satellite
down-links, Audio mixing, signal routing and distribution,
communication links and transmission engineering. Provided
technical support for Web, App, Mobile and Social platforms.
Controlled the video routing and distribution to all of MUTV's
platforms and physical destinations.
Responsible for onsite installation and support for live
broadcast events. Performed advanced testing and
troubleshooting for both copper and optical ber installations.
Ful lled new equipment installations and maintenance of the
broadcast trucks to ensure the eet is fully operational.
Collaborated within a team of engineers to ensure the
successful live production on large scale events such as the
Australian Open and the Cricket World Cup.
Setup and tested the interconectivity of ber and copper
installations on large scale broadcast events.
Con gured and setup network devices prior to arriving at the
events. Including setting up and logging network addresses,
Setting up and creating vlans and enabling network protocols.
Provided onsite technical assistance to clients and technical
operaters to ensure a succesfull broadcast
Operated broadcast equipment, such as video switchers, sound
desks and cameras for live show events.
Completed a 3 year Broadcast Engineering apprenticeship with
The BBC. The Apprenticeship combined academic modules and
industrial experience together, providing theoretical and practical
understanding of systems and equipment.
Working with The BBC project, product and technical teams in the
planning, design, development, integration, commission and
testing of broadcast systems. I gained a fundamental
understanding of the processes involved in the production and
broadcast of The BBC output.
Throughout the 3 years I also had work placements with some of
the largest broadcasting companies in the United Kingdom while
studying part time at Birmingham City University to accomplish a
2:1 in Broadcast and communications Engineering.
I have graduated with an Upper Second class honours degree in Broadcast and Communications Engineering awarded by the Birmingham city university. Throughout my first year of university I studied: -Computer Networks (CCNA) -Engineering mathematics -Broadcast technology -Computer operation - AV acquisition -Electronics. Throughout my second year of university I studied: - Computer Networks and IP Distribution (CCNA) - Computer Programming for Engineers - Database Technology - Digital Signal Processing - Communications Engineering Throughout my third year of university I studied: - Quality of Service - Audio and Video Signal Compression and Coding - Contribution and Distribution Solutions - Digital Transmission Systems My final year project involved designing and implementing a new graphical user interface for the BBC news studio in Media City. The project management techniques I used allowed me to complete the project on time and to a high standard.
