Assist the Surgeon and Anesthesiologist before, during and after the surgery and also coordinate with surgical technician.
•Maintain sterility in all activities like preparing the necessary surgical instruments and other equipments.
•Operating nurses have good hygiene standards.
•Must properly check the instruments and machines/equipments are in good condition before and after surgery.
•Have quickly hand over the equipment to the surgeon during the surgery.
•Require to able to stand on their feet for long hours as some surgeries can carry on for many hours.
•Prepare the patient before the surgery and wheel them in to the operating room.
•Accomplished all the information and data like consent for procedure and anesthesia and verify if it is signed by the patient or patients family or relative.
•Talk the family of the patient along with the surgeon and help them to understand the procedure.
•Observe and monitor the patient’s condition after the surgery.
•Attends the records.
• Have a complete proper documentation in chart ( including consent/ waiver)
