Provides lead support to Senior Finance Officials in the policy formulation of the country’s position with regards to the Philippines engagements in ASEAN and ASEAN +3 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, as well as the APEC, ASEM and the IMF.
•Represents the Philippines in the ASEAN, ASEAN+3, APEC and ASEM Finance Ministers Technical Working Groups, and serves as Alternate in Deputy-level Meetings of the ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Process.
•Led the Philippines in Chairing the ASEAN Finance Ministers Working Groups on the Forum on Taxation (AFT) that produced a Roadmap on an ASEAN tax cooperation and the Financial Services Liberalization (FSL) that has negotiated succesfully the 7th Round of Financial Services Liberalization that has progressively liberalized market access on financial services sub-sectors in ASEAN
•Interim Chair of the ASEAN Cross-Sectoral Committee on Disaster Risks Insurance (DRFI) with the objective of establishing a regional approach to strengthening ASEAN’s resiliency in terms of natural catastrophes.
•Member of the Philippines Secretariat in Chairing the APEC Finance Ministers Meeting that delivered the Cebu Action Plan (CAP) a Roadmap that would provide guidance for the APEC Finance Process, in setting its agenda for the coming years.
•Chair and Lead ASEAN negotiator in the Financial Services Sub-sector in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) that is envisioned to be the largest FTA in the world.

•Handles the Republic of the Philippines’ international membership commitments with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund and other Bilateral Institutions.
I provide technical and substantive support to the ASEAN member states in their meetings relative to the finance track of the ASEAN Finance Ministers process.
Provides support in the policy formulation of the country’s position with regards to the Philippines participation in ASEAN, APEC, ASEM and IMF/ WB Annual Meetings.
•Led the Philippines in Chairing the 5th Round of Negotiations for the Specific Commitments of Packages for the Financial Services Liberalization in ASEAN Finance Ministers’ process.
•Works closely with other agencies and ASEAN counterparts in bringing forth ASEAN centrality in our dialogue with East Asia Summit Counterparts
Monitors and analyzes macroeconomic situation and developments within the Asia-Pacific region.
•Supervises the data gathering and handles the analysis required for the periodic reports and presentation of the Philippine Surveillance Unit during the regular meetings of the ASEAN Finance Ministers.
•Reviews and makes recommendations on various ASEAN+3 policy issues requiring the Department’s Senior Officials approval.
Represents the Department of Finance in an inter-agency committee that looks into and updates the RP Model Investment Agreement (the Agreement used by the country in negotiating issues on investment) based on latest trends in investment agreements adopted in international fora, specifically the commitments under the GATT-WTO
•Prepared and coordinated country presentations for Senior Finance Officials for their international meetings (ASEAN, APEC and ASEM).
•Prepares briefing materials and provides technical support during meetings with ASEAN, APEC and ASEM regional fora.
Provides research and monitors economic development on ASEAN, APEC and ASEM countries.
•Represents the Department in Technical Inter-Agency Committee Meetings on ASEAN, APEC, ASEM and WTO on issues of financial and monetary cooperation as well as trade policy.
•Assist in the facilitation of the Philippines’ vote on administrative concerns of international financial organizations where the Secretary of Finance sits as Governor and facilitates the payment of the Philippines financial obligations arising from the Philippines’ membership to various international organizations.
