• Define and validate with the committee the strategies and plans for overall sourcing and buying, in field of products managed, to achieve high sales levels and effective returns on investment.
• Assume full responsibility from identifying items to negotiating with suppliers (cost, fees, rebates, payment terms, logistic organization, contract, and compensations).
• Plan and negotiate effectively to obtain best Promotion deals, to strengthen MAF Carrefour competitiveness and to increase profitability.
• Provide, update and justify Layout/ Merchandise plans, by family and section, with a view to maximize the sales and margin.
• Provide clear rules to implement and merchandise the products.
• Validate and analyze activities and schedules, with suppliers to meet deadlines and objectives for National and in-house promotions.
• Identify and develop new range needed, and supervise contacts to source them with a competitive pricing.
• Validate the products new listing, de-listing, and the price movements.
• Develop the selected and approved Private Label range, and arrange for third party production, according to prescribed quality standards.
• In general anticipate, negotiate and set up new partnerships with suppliers, Consolidators, Manufacturers and Producers.
• Oversee and manage all matters of supply & supplier support to the stores, through the supply agreement and its follow up. Ensure an effective problems’ resolution (Promotion and 20x80 deliveries in priority, penalties for out of stock, and as per contract).
• Ensure availability of seasonal items, coordinating with the suppliers (Ramadan, Back to school, Eid …).
• Oversee the stock returns, the expiry dates and other issues with regular suppliers.
• Periodically visit the stores and control the Plano grams, presentation, availability of products, and sales reflecting the Merchandise plan.
• Organize and analyze competitor and Market survey, and valid corrective action plans.
• Ensure a good communication with the stores and the suppliers. Independently respond to letters and general correspondence.
