• Plan & organize preventive maintenance activities to ensure all food processing, packaging machines & utility equipments are working efficiently and availabile for enduser requirements.
• Managing a team of Engineers & Technicians for conducting maintenance activities. Review and recommending training to team to improve skills; Mentoring and Tutoring of staff as required.
• Preparing and Managing the R&M budget by controlling engineering expenditure, while adhering to finance procedures. Ensuring availability of cricital spare parts for all plant equipements.
• Executing Engineering development and Black belt initiatives to reduce overall manufacturing cost. Implementing continuous improvement avtivities to achieve higher productivity and efficiency.
• Ensuring monthly Risk assessments are conducted within the department and all Health, Food safety & Safety Procedures are complied with and implemented across Engineering operations.
• Assist and advise on new project requirements. Supporting project team in Installation and commissioning activities and ensure that plant meets standard and functionality requirements.
• Ensuring that effective Preventive Maintenance plans and strategies are implemented to improve the performance of the equipment.
• Ensuring achievement of Maintenance and Utility consumption related KPIs; Impementing strategies to reduce the utility consumption.
Area of Expertise:
• Maintenance of Food Processing, Filling, Primary & Secondary packaging equipments. Utility: Chillers, Condensers, Boilers, Cooling towers, LP & HP compressors, RO Plant, MHE’s, Diesel Generators, Hotwater Systems, Fire Hydrant & Sprinkler system, Warehousing systems.
• Engineering development for improving machine performance and Automation to increase the productivity and to reduce the conversion cost of products.
• Identifying and implement Black belt programs and Reduction in Utility cost for production .
• Coordination with Engineering team for Planning and execution of preventative maintenance of all running equipment’s to meet targeted production volumes and efficiencies.
• Co-ordination with Production team for timely Maintenance of machines and ensuring high uptime of machine.
• Project conceptualization, Project Scope preparation / Tendering / Capex approvals, Budgeting, Scheduling, Supplier Evaluation, Issuing work orders, Coordination with suppliers, Execution of the project, Commissioning, Performance validation and Handover.
• Project Management keeping track of project KPI’s such as safety, cost, quality and timelines. Timely submission of reports to Management on the accomplishments, bottlenecks, support required.
• Monitoring machine status and doing assessment for the machine abnormalities and preparing the spare part and service recommendation for the Krones filling and packing lines.
• Executing the preventive maintenance for the various Krones/Kosme machines like Filler, Blow moulder, Labeller, Shrink-wrap, wrap around and Palletizing machines.
• Attending the breakdown calls for the filling and packing machines and providing timely solutions to the customers.
• Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of Krones bottling and packing machines.
• Leading the site with a team for the commissioning, servicing activities and troubleshooting
• Support customers in Implementing various techniques for improving machine performance like TPM, analysis of machine performance data and corrective action plan.
• Coordination with OEM’s, Sub contractors, internal and external agencies, site personals, vendors and other bodies for fast execution of bottling line installation and commissioning .
• Planning and implementing preventive maintenance activities, and attending breakdowns.
• Coordinating with OEM’s for installation and conversion of Packing machines into different formats.
• Innovating and implementing process improvement and modification activities to improve productivity.
• Monitoring the performance of the machines and initiate corrective maintenance actions.
