•Liaise with the Marketing function on all Research and Development activities and co-ordinate program of work through the NPD team ensure projects are managed within cost, quality, and time and clearly meet marketing objectives.
•Provide Marketing and other functions, technical interface within organization to review and advise on projects, proposals, concepts, supply chain and operational issues.
•Coordinate with the different functions of Haleeb Foods to initiate R&D projects, which add value to the business. Projects can include process development, product development, brand maintenance, value engineering, operational efficiencies, ingredient matching and sourcing, and new product development and product scale up activities.
•Liaise with the Supply Chain Management on areas of potential value engineering, alternative source of supply, ensuring dual sourcing policy is fully implemented, and identification of alternative ingredients / suppliers.
•Maintain working relationships with key suppliers in order to maintain smooth operation of the development process, ensure the company is kept updated with the latest trends and developments in sector.
•Manage the R&D Staff in a way that all company policies and SOPs are met, and maintain a creative, enjoyable, motivational working environment.
• Provide technical input into Operational issues, projects, troubleshooting .
•Liaise with Legal functions on regulatory/ legislative conformance and declarations.
• Functional budget and control costs within predefined budget limit.
• Provide management on the operation, maintenance and improvement to the fresh and foods pilot plant and laboratory facilities
•To develop prototype samples for research & conduct production scale trial samples to determine the factors effecting product stability during process of NPD (new product development & EPI (Existing product improvement.
•Stability studies of products to figure out the factors affecting product shelf life.
•Product HACCP plan designing leading to implementation on production floor.
•To conduct Shelf life Studies (Product aging studies) and research for product complaints and anomalies with coordination of CSD and QAD.
•To investigate food ingredients proactively, maintain competitive intelligence .
•To Conduct audits for GMP and HACCP for various food operations.
•To recommend appropriate food machinery, production methodology, and process parameter.
•To provide training to production staff before product handover.
•To statistically analyze data regarding trends, variation factors, corrective action effects, benchmarking gaps (competitor product analysis).
•To improve existing testing methodologies by introducing modern analytical techniques.
