Duties and Responsibilities:
HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER / COMPANY NURSE
1. To develop, implement and monitor Board Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures;
2. To assist the Board in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of learners, staff and visitors;
3. To establish budget proposals for the operation of the Occupational Health and Safety office and specific training programs;
4. To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization;
5. To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to students, staff
and/or visitors to the appropriate senior official, and to assist in the investigation of all accidents / incidents that result in substantial damage to Board vehicles and property;
6. To investigate and report on complaints of hazardous working conditions to the Associate Director
and/or other appropriate senior staff;
7. To respond to employees' safety concerns;
8. To conduct, as necessary, the safety inspection of any Board facility;
9. To assist the Board's Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees;
10. To respond to fires and other emergencies on or about the Board property;
11. To coordinate registration and removal of hazardous waste;
12. To receive reports from and respond to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors;
13. To arrange for Occupational Health and Safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants as may be necessary;
14. To act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies;
15. To coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident
prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety
procedures in Board facilities;
16. To coordinate the Board's emergency procedures and act as the Board's emergency on-site
coordinator;
17. To assist executive staff, senior administrators, principals and supervisors in emergency preparedness;
18. To develop, review, and update appropriate sections of the Board's Emergency Procedures Manual;
19. To assume other duties as may be assigned.


MEDICAL SECRETARY
1. Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries and medical consultations.
2. Compile and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence, using typewriter or personal computer.
3. Answer telephones, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
4. Receive and route messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff.
5. Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
6. Interview patients in order to complete documents, case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms.
7. Maintain medical records, technical library and correspondence files.
8. Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories and medical records.
9. Transmit correspondence and medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax.
10. Perform various clerical and administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
11. Arrange hospital admissions for patients. 12.
12. Transcribe recorded messages and practitioners' diagnoses and recommendations into patients' medical records.
13. Perform bookkeeping duties, such as credits and collections, preparing and sending financial statements and bills, and keeping financial records.
14. Complete insurance and other claim forms.
15. Prepare correspondence and assist physicians or medical scientists with preparation of reports, speeches, articles and conference proceedings.

NURSE
1. Asses, evaluate, observe, and take vital signs and report sign and symptoms and condition of patient to the physician on duty.
2. Administer medication as well as notes reactions and rendered specific nursing interventions.
3. May assist the physician in all procedures.
4. May assist the Head Nurse in evaluating the performances of the professionals and non-professionals in nursing service.
5. Responsible for rendering nursing care and procedure to patients like insertion of NGT, IFC, do ECG and IVF insertion.
6. Visits and attends to patients as often as possible in order to gain knowledge or patient's condition.
7. Participating on implementing Hospital Policies and computerization.
