Project Description: The “Zayed National Museum Project” remains to be the most High-Profile Project in Abu Dhabi’s massive cultural plan located at the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District with the revised Contract Value of 2.1 Billion Dirhams (USD $572 Million Dollars). This Prestigious Iconic Museum Project is both a monument and memorial that tells the story of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his unification of the UAE and long history over the region. This museum project comprises of five main sectors each positioned around and connecting to the main atrium. At ground level the visitor can find the Library, Special Exhibition Pavilion and Education/Auditorium facilities. A stair sweeping up from the central lobby leads the visitor onto a walkway, suspended off the main structural walls. At level +20.00 m the walkway winds between the hanging gallery pods. The walkway affords dramatic views up into the wings. At five intervals the walkway bridges the void between the lobby wall and hanging galleries to allow the visitor entry into the gallery pods. Each of gallery pods provides an exhibition area of 541 sqm.

Duties/Responsibilities: Include but not limited to the following responsibilities as the PMC QA/QC Manager for this Prestigious Iconic Project “Zayed National Museum” with the revised Contract Value of 2.1 Billion Dirhams (USD $572 Million Dollars) which remains to be the most High-Profile Project in Abu Dhabi’s massive cultural plan located at the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi;
• Prepare and develop plans/ procedures/ process flowcharts as necessary for the project.
• Maintain, and update, the project procedures and plans for its suitability and adequacy all throughout the entire duration of the project.
• Monitor the effective implementation of the Quality Management Systems in the project.
• Monitor the Quality Performance of Consultants and Contractors.
• Regular site visits along with Contractor/ Consultant as necessary to resolve quality issues at site.
• Ensure that Contractor establish a system for closing of all NCRs/ SORs which complies with the project requirements.
• Coordinate with all disciplines for the closing out of Contractor’s NCRs/ SORs in timely manner and intervene with the Supervision Consultant as necessary as well as advise to avoid recurrence of similar deficiency.
• Review and streamline the process of site inspections and its relevant ITP where possible.
• Ensure that the Contractor establish and submit Project-Specific Quality Plan.
• Monitor rejection rates of site inspections (WIR/ MIR) and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead Weekly QA/QC Meeting and prepare MOM.

This Mega Project’s Original Contract Value of 2.8 Billion Dirhams (USD $763 Million Dollars) which covers a total land area of 5 hectares.

• Conduct and / or Participate in Quality or technical compliance audits for CONTRACTOR, Sub CONTRACTOR or VENDORS.
• Review the contract documents for each Construction Package in respect of QA/QC requirements and procedures and advise the Project Manager of any deficiency.
• Review QA/QC site organization, key personnel CV’s as submitted by the CONTRACTORs and advise the Project Manager of his comments.
• Review QA/QC Procedures and document control as submitted by the Contractors and ensure implementation is in compliance with Contracts’ requirements.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans and other technical submittals as required and ensure compliance with contracts requirements.
• Attend site activities and ensure their compliance with QA/QC procedures and contract requirements.
• Ensure traceability of all materials and equipment from purchasing and up to delivery on site.
• Check materials and equipment as delivered on site and ensure its compliance with approved materials and specification.
• Closely monitor site activities, fully coordinate with PMC discipline engineers on a daily basis, issue NCR’s in case of non-compliance and report to Project Manager in case of shortage of skilled labourers and/or site supervision staff.
