3. Responsible for making sure that all the equipment that the dentist needs is in working order. Report any repair needs to the dentist or other administrators.

2. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.

positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
4. Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
5. Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
6. Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations;
cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
7. Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
8. Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
9. Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
10. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
11. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
12. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
13. Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Turn and re-position bedridden patients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores.
Observe patients' conditions, measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output and vital signs, and report changes to professional staff.
Provide patient care by supplying and emptying bed pans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines.
Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
Bathe, groom, shave, dress, and/or drape patients to prepare them for surgery, treatment, or examination.
