Al Shefa Polyclinic is one of the pioneers in Qatar in as private health care institutions. Al Shefa Polyclinic is a state of the art clinic which caters multidisciplinary mode of health care services to the people of Qatar. Due to the demand of Occupational Health Nurses in the country as the construction firm booms, the company ventured into providing nurses licensed by the Supreme Council of Health Qatar to construction firms as third party. On 2015, Roya Medical and Nursing Services was founded which basically functions as provider of licensed Nurses and Physicians to construction firms, power plants etc. under the umbrella of Al Shefa Polyclinic
Responsibilities:
•Carries out orders of the Physician
•Administers medications as prescribed
•Health promotion and illness prevention
•Collaborates with other health care staff in rendering care towards the patient.
Occupational Health Nurse/ Site Nurse
Assigned at construction sites/companies and industrial plants with the following
Responsibilities but not limited to:
•Promotion of health, illness and injury prevention, and the protection of individuals from occupational and environmental hazards.
•Performs lectures to staff through health education and information dissemination.
•Responds to all kinds of emergencies within the site’s premises (i.e. industrial accidents, environmental, cardiac, allergic reaction/hypersensitivity, and respiratory emergencies) through the provision of first aid treatment following proper protocol. This includes airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), drug administration with medical direction, identification of treatment of shock, control of hemorrhage, spinal stabilization and follows up care en route to the receiving facility or while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
•Implement and maintain established Company policies procedures and protocols
•Maintain required records, reports, and statistics.
•Documents patients care in accordance with the nursing standard of practice to reflect application of the nursing process.
•Incorporates the social and behavioral sciences and principles of management and health care administration.
•Collaborate with team members to identify health and safety needs; prioritize interventions; develop and implement interventions and programs; and evaluate care and service delivery.
•Clinical and primary health care of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
•Case management of occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
•Health hazard assessment and surveillance of employee populations, workplaces and community groups
• Investigation, monitoring and analysis of injury and illness episodes and trends
•Compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment
•Management of occupational and environmental health services
•Health promotion and disease prevention strategies
•Counseling, health education and training programs
•Research related to occupational and environmental health
as a staff Nurse assigned in Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Surgical ward respectively. With rotation to special areas such as Emergency Room and Delivery Room.
Perform the following but not limited to:
•Assess the client’s need for nursing care based on client history and result of physical diagnostic and laboratory exams
•Plans and prioritizes nursing care activities considering all health needs and coping abilities of the client including that of his family and significant others.
•Actively participates in development and implementation of individual treatment plans for patients with broad range of health issues. Ensured that doctors order were effectively carried out, including testing, medical procedures, consultations and assisted in implementing treatment for in and out patient.
•Institutes nursing interventions consistent with the overall plan of care with special considerations for client safety and comfort.
•Executes written, legal prescriptions for treatment medications including intravenous injections according to established protocol.
•Accurately documents all nursing care rendered to the client.
•Provides health teachings and conducts discharge planning with client, family and significant others.
