Duties and Responsibilities
•Detailed Design, Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning and maintenance activities. Providing Technical Services on all aspects of project execution.
•Design Activities: Development of project drawings such as system and control block diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, interconnection wiring diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, cable routing plans, instrument location plans, equipment layouts, instrument installation schedules, instrument installation details.
•Engineering Activities: Development of functional and technical specification documents for equipment and systems; development of instrument specification sheets and calculation sheets; development of non-material inspection requirements associated with the functional and technical specification documents.
•Maintenance Activities: Development of maintenance work packs, provision of technical support and supervision during plant wide maintenance shutdown, and identification of instruments to be executed during shutdown.
•Construction Activities: Calibration of instruments, preparation of Construction Work packs, Loop checking, installation of instruments, preparation commissioning test plan, and commissioning activities.
•Inter-discipline review of project drawings including Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Plot Plans, One-Line Diagrams, Piping plans, Cable Entrance and Cable Termination Details drawings, and other deliverables prepared by different project disciplines.
•Recommendation of new continuous improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve the newly designed facilities and standardization within specific fields of endeavor.
•Monitoring and confirmation of documentation for installation and start-up of control and instrumentation systems, including start-up tests on specialized equipment as specified in the contract documents.
•Assurance of compliance with specifications, drawings and approved submittals.
•Supervision of the overall conduct of work of a project, including coordination with the client, construction contractor, sub-contractor and vendor(s).
•Verification of equipment settings, alignment, and testing and energization requirements.
•Witness, monitor and/or review instrumentation calibration tests.
•Provision of recommendations on all instrumentation and control construction work to assure functionality and final product.
•Working with vendor technical representatives to resolve equipment technical problems.
•Participation in the preparation of bid packages for projects involving Instrumentation & Control including Man-hour and Procurement Cost estimates.
•Preparation and coordination of bid packages which includes Site Survey, Project Schedule, Project Manpower Summary, Method Statement, Project Organizational Charts.
•Review of project proposals, design drawings, equipment specifications and the proposed protection and control schemes for the new engineered equipment & facilities.
•Estimation of costs, preparation of justification and complete expenditure requests.
•Other tasks related to Instrumentation & Control such as quality control / quality assurance implementation, engineering, design and project control, during assignment to other companies.
