Civil Engineer at Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority
  • United Arab Emirates
  • January 2006 to January 2008

Client ADSSC -
Project of Consultancy Services excluding the Western Region, was assigned to an association consisted of two major
German companies (GTZ - Dornier). A number of master plans were previously developed by various companies for
isolated areas within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the sewerage system and distribution of the Treated Effluent.
Those Master Plans did not take into consideration the network as a whole. As such; there was a need to develop a
new master plan that provides a more holistic view of the entire sewerage system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,
excluding the Western Region, to ensure that the sewerage infrastructure meets current and projected loads over the
next 25 years. The Master Plan for the Sewerage Network of Abu Dhabi emirate was defined to identify the investment
requirements in the sewerage network and those for the treated effluent system for the next 25 years. It was
supposed to determine the most cost-effective solution and timing for augmentation of the sewerage treatment
capacity; the sewerage collection system and the wastewater reuse system.
The Master Plan for the sewerage network consisted of two independent sewerage network master plans, the first
one for Abu Dhabi (Island, adjacent mainland and developing areas) and the second for Al Ain.
