In my current position I am fully responsible for internal audit of Hub plant located in Hub, Baluchistan and centralized operations at head office, while reporting to Chief Internal Auditor. As part of my job I have to perform complex level professional internal auditing work which involves leading or conducting performance, financial and compliance audit projects; providing consulting services to the management and staff; providing key input to development of the Annual Audit Plan; and providing training and coaching to Internal Audit staff while maintaining all Company and professional ethical standards. Further it involves independent work under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Being an Assistant Manager in Audit and Assurance Department, my primary responsibility was managing a portfolio of audit clients that also required managing upto 15 staff members at a time. This involved planning, time management, leadership, through knowledge, professional competence, organization and administration of staff skills and expertise as well as oral communication, discussion and conclusion of issues and active participation in meeting with client personnel, senior management and even with staff in member firms of Deloitte in other countries.
I had been engaged in the assurance engagements of highly reputable and multinational clients in various sectors including oil and gas, mutual funds, investment bank, insurance sector, logistics and non-profit organizations mainly including;

My other responsibilities included staff training, staff evaluation and appraisal etc. Apart from these, I was also engaged in assistance in internal and external engagement quality assurance reviews, budgeting, resource planning and management, etc.
At my present position, I am responsible to perform the following:
Planning and developing audit methodologies for various audit engagements
Reviewing audit working papers
Supervising audit engagements
Responsible for audit related services including CDC certification and consolidation etc.
Drafting engagement letters, management letters, presentations, audit and review reports and analytical reviews for audit clients
Consultation on significant matters with various professionals such as lawyers, tax advisors, actuaries and IT experts
Reporting significant audit matters pertaining to audit engagements to audit partners
Significant corporate clients in aforementioned capacity

My key responsibilities included:
Preparation of financial statements as per requirements of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
Review of internal control systems and identification of significant weaknesses and recommending improvements therein to clients through management report.
Ensuring compliance with the Code of Corporate Governance issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for listed companies and advising client on the development of a system to monitor and report compliance with the Code.
Engagement management, review of work performed by assistants and implementation of audit strategy including design and application of audit procedures for various clients.
Responsible to perform complete audit procedures on critical heads of accounts including Stock, Investment, Revenue and Cost of Sales etc.
