In my current role, I am leading the Accounting and Finance team as Accounting Manager in a four party Joint Operation of APSCO, BIECO, UFC and UGAFCO at KKIA Riyadh. This role has enabled me to develop the skills required to establish and manage a finance function from the very foundations i.e. development of accounting framework, policies, processes, workflows, controls, system and reports. As head of the finance team in the JO, I am looking after whole accounting and finance activities with my team and I am reporting to Chief Operating Officer in the JO structure.
In my job as Senior Accountant, I got a team to lead and manage all Accounting & Reporting functions of UGAFCO Riyadh office including financial and management reporting, customers ageing analysis for whole company, cost management, vendor payments, customer receipts, monitoring of bank account, payroll processing and managing internal and external auditors. I was reporting to the Chief Accountant and Chief Finance Officer in a matrix reporting structure. I also got the opportunity to develop accounting processes and relevant controls for the new branch and I have also successfully lead the development and implementation of customized ERP for Riyadh office. Along with equipping me with new technical and analytical skills, this job also gave me the opportunity of successfully managing a team to derive target results.
I joined UGAFCO as Accountant and was responsible for preparation of financial results for Riyadh office, customer invoicing, vendor payments, customer ageing analysis and bank accounts reconciliations. This role helped me in developing an understanding of aviation industry and its related services, accounting treatments and standards for the industry. My efforts and work was well appreciated by the management and the sustained performance helped my development and growth in the organization.
Nestle is the largest food and beverages company worldwide and one of the biggest FMCGs in Pakistan. I had been working in the team of Corporate Costing as Costing specialist. I was responsible for planning and budgeting of cost of production for eight businesses and numerous brands which were being manufactured at 4 production sites and amounted to more than PKR 50 billion. I have worked closely with the Business Unit Controllers, Brand Managers Factory Controllers & Supply Chain Controller for product costing, pricing, forecasting and performance evaluation. In my span of time with Nestle, I have leaded two process improvement projects which resulted in improved operational results and higher process efficiencies. This role has also helped me in developing a good business and market sense due to close working with production and supply chain managers. Recognizing my performance and potential, I had been made a part of multi-functional team as a representative of whole finance function and we delivered the challenge of evaluating all strategic CAPEX projects of Pakistan market in a tight deadline of 1 month.
I have been working as internal controls executive in my role of Financial Trainee Officer. I was part of a team responsible for ensuring that organization’s operating standards and procedures are communicated and understood at all levels of management and that prevailing processes and procedures are in compliance with the standards set in the AkzoNobel group.
I have trained the departmental heads and Business Unit Controllers on updated and replaced working standards in the organization and have played a critical role in ensuring that processes are improved at the operational levels as and when required.
Being in a matrix reporting structure, I had been reporting to the Internal Audit Manager and Head of Corporate Compliance. I have also planned and conducted various audits in order to identify control weaknesses and improvement opportunities in the prevailing processes and procedures of 5 diverse businesses and the corporate functions of Business Unit Pakistan.

I was well recognized for my quick learning, time management and people management skills. As a result, I got promoted as Audit Senior in just a period of 12 months and successfully performed 3 audits in this capacity with the required quality and within the targeted deadlines.
