Responsibilities:
Responsible for a team of four Buyers managing the launch of the MP4-12C road car and defining the supply chain strategy for future vehicle projects for a large range of commodities. Key areas include the identification and management of risks and opportunities on the vehicle projects whilst supporting the financial forecasting process during the launch of a new brand.
Achievements:
-Supported the launch and production ramp up within the supply chain for the McLaren MP4-12C
-Co-ordinated supply chain activities to ensure full service part availability across the entire vehicle prior to launch
-Lead negotiation on numerous contractual agreements with key suppliers
-Supported my team in defining future sourcing strategies for key vehicle commodities
Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for the procurement cycle from supplier identification, nomination through to contractual agreements and series production supply. A significant emphasis is placed upon strategic supplier selection, ensuring commercial targets can be achieved whilst delivering the highest standard of component quality. An influential figure within the Body Systems Function Group and often called upon to assist in the strategic decision making process.
Achievements:
-Management of a large global supply base for a diverse range of commodities.
-Supported the identification and delivery of commercial and technical opportunities within the Body Systems Function Group
-Co-ordinated the nomination and management of strategic suppliers for key vehicle wide commodities.
-Management of a large amount of commercial and project data, providing regular reports to the Senior Management Team.
-Managed the supplier re-source of key commodities with minimal disruption to the vehicle programme.
-Lead an investigation into low cost component and resource opportunities concluding with a report submitted to the McLaren Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for all consumable and production suppliers including price negotiation, purchase order maintenance and logistical improvement activities. I controlled the company sub-contract stores and monitored and reported stock profiles, quality and delivery performance of procured items. I was also responsible for the scheduling and progressing of all products sourced in Japan and co-ordinated the sourcing of products in China.
Achievements:
-Re-sourced £2million of press work into Turkey with and annual saving of approx £200, 000. This included a visit to all suppliers for assessment and negotiation.
-Established a logistics contract for the above project creating a cost-effective, on-time ex-works supply chain.
-Established and managed relationships with manufactures in China, with a forecasted annual cost saving to the value of £150, 000.
-Managed the stores through two ISO/TS16949:2002 audits with zero minor non-conformances
Responsibilities:
Accountable for the stock levels of all sub-contract parts. This was achieved by monitoring stock levels and values, supplier scheduling and supplier delivery performance. I worked closely with suppliers to drive and influence improvement activities to optimise delivery performance.
Achievements:
-Design and development of an Excel based stock control and monitoring system.
-Reduction of on-site stock by £100, 000, 30%, within 6 months.
-Designed and implemented a delivery monitoring system for 30+ suppliers.
-Overall control of stock levels for more than 200 sub-contract parts
